Ok, I'll admit they're 5% of the draft process. See: Clowney, Jadeveon. Three sacks, clearly out of shape throughout the season, clashed with coaches. Top-five pick because of the projection to the next level.

I mean, is it really necessary to start pulling up statistics of college bench warmers that never made it in the pro to make a counter argument against college spread QBs that didn't make it in the pros?

If you guys can't comprehend that statistics do tell some of a story of a potential draft pick, maybe you need to quit posting in the draft section of this forum.

Im pretty certain I know more about the draft process than you, so how bout you go take your nap, its almost lunch time, you have to be winding down by this part of the day.

Yea I mean they provide insight on a guy, youre not going to take a guy who's never played college football in the 1st round, but how many catches did Taylor Thompson have in college?

It also doesn't isn't an argument to me made against a player. Andrew Luck, Russell Wilson, RGIII (at least when he was healthy) Marshawn Lynch, Adrian Peterson, Lesean McCoy, etc etc, all had great college careers, and are having good pro careers at this point. So you cannot make an argument for someone based on college success, but it makes even less sense to make an argument against a guy because of his college success.

And Ken Dorsey was not the best college QB of his time, he was a good QB on a team built with future pro bowlers. Carson Palmer was a better player and his Sr year put up far better #s than Dorsey. He also was the # 1 overall pick and has had a pretty decent career.

Here's what you are missing, if you are not a systematic player, you will struggle in the NFL. Every single one of those players you mentioned are systematic players.

Coaches draft methodical players, not daredevils. Manziel as exciting as he was at A&M is unpredictable. He skipped passing drills because even he knows it will hurt his stock to show he can't make every throw that will be needed to succeed in the NFL.

I am not missing anything. You brought up all these players who didn't have NFL success to make your point, yet you conveniently left out that there are plenty of great college players who also turned into good/great pros. My point, is that your argument was bunk. Not thinking Manziel will be a good pro is one thing, but bringing up Ken Dorsey to prove your point is ridiculous. Especially since Dorsey was about as low a risk methodical QB as you could get in college. By your argument, Dorsey should have succeeded at the next level yes? But he didn't. But, Russell Wilson, Kaepernick, RGIII's rookie year, were all not methodical QBs, and to this point have all had some levels of success.

I simply went off memory, I didn't intentionally include or leave anyone out. Hey you and Mike Ditka go right on and keep believing stats will determine your NFL success, no skin off my nose that youre choosing to be misinformed of how this thing works.
