    He's one of my favorites.

Remember, he just made the switch to OLB from RB a few years ago. Barr in his combine interview said: "Shedding blocks, defending the run, using my hands. I think those things are still new to me, things I'm still working on," Barr said Saturday. "If I continue to work on it, I think I'll be able to perfect those. Like I said, I'm far from a finished product".

I'm normally okay with taking a young player that has had limited experience. Considering the athletic ability though. JPP, Ansah, both guys I wanted. But they had a different spark to them on the field. They flashed elite potential. Measurable wise, complete beasts as well..

I however cannot say the same for Barr.

I think we have another case of overrating the combine. Don't get me wrong, I see negatives in Barrs game - but you can say the same about any prospect. He's not a Top-5 pick like some projected, but I think he's still a 7-13 type guy. The potential is there. Barr is still a 6'5 244 w/ long arms. His 40 time was average, but his 10 yard split was elite. 40 is so overrated. The bench press does scare me, but he has the frame to get much bigger/stronger. He can and will be a playmaker, he's a hardworker, smart kid.

Still lacks the instincts on defense, as he has just 2 years exp EVER on defense. Motor is up/down. Everything that he has as a negative can be fixed with experience and coaching.

You're hoping can be fixed. And I don't overrate the combine, his tape doesn't shine as a top player. A lot of holes in his game. Athletic prowess isn't really there. Big, yes, decently quick, yes... But he's not fluid... And you can see that from tape. He could quickly plateau and become nothing more than average.

He could also figure it all out and shine.... A lot of question marks there without a ton of the same reasons people like Ansah and jpp got picked so early. As a developmental player... He's just not one I would bet on personally.

Good thing we have his old DC as our LB coach... he should have all the info you need on Barr

I'm still on the Mack/Barr train. If they are both gone at #11 - trade down. Somebody will want to move up for Mike Evans. We pick up additional picks and take Lewan Mosley, Ealy, Hageman, or Nix with our 1st.

I'm not - I actually had them in the listed players (Dennard & Gilbert). Removed them until we hear more about Verner.

Really liking the possibility of Gilbert. Verners most likely gone I think.
