Maybe he should wait until we get the right players in place, before he posts about being anxious for our new 3-4 defense.

What we NEED is them shoes with oil in the heels like that asian kid had on the Goonies. Slap a pair of them bad boys on our RBs and WRs.. hows a defender gonna catch a man when he's layin' down a slick trail like that?!

Greetings. I'm a visiting Chiefs fan, but an NFL fan overall. My Chiefs board has been crashed for a week and I'm Jonesing for some football chat.

I was curious if a 34 was a certainty. If so what does it look like in TEN. Seems Derrick Morgan is a misfit for the scheme, presuming it would be similar to the 34 run in AZ. Are the 43 OLB adequate to move inside? Who are the lineman? Do you have a NT on the roster?

Welcome. Hope you like it here. Site is pretty stable :)

Word is the Titans will do both 3-4 and 4-3. Though I suspect the long term plan is 3-4. Morgan probably is not a good fit for the scheme. We are debating whether he will be asked to slim down and move to OLB or bulk up and stay at DE. And we do not have an NT as yet though I think Jurrell Casey, our best DL, could manage.

Akeem Ayers is far better suited to OLB in a 3-4 than OLB in the 4-3. He is not very fast. Zach Brown, I am not sure about at ILB. We will see. Other guys who I do not think are a fit for the 3-4 include:
    • Mike Martin
    • Karl Klug
    • Zaviar Gooden

Let's start with ONE, then worry about a dynasty.

Winning the division is mediocrity! We are talking about championships. The Superbowl. Tom had a good D behind him and won a few rings. Manning failed to win championships even though he won many division titles. That's why he was thrown out of Indy. We must focus on the building the D if we are going to change our team culture.

Yea. NT and LB seems to be our biggest issues for a 3-4. LB and DE seems to be our biggest issue with the 4-3. We need to do some resigning to keep our secondary intact to go with either sceme.

Making it to many superbowls in a row takes talent and means you are one of the most dominating teams in the league. Which takes a great QB. I wouldn't be surprised if the Seahawks lose first round in playoffs next season.

Thrown of out Indy?!?!?! Funniest thing I've ever heard. How do you think the Seahawks would fare if Russell Wilson went down? They would be terrible!

Mike Martin did play NT in Michigan's 3-4 defense. So he does have some experience at it. I certainly think we will be looking for a BIG body in the draft or FA.

I am in the camp that Morgan will do fine at OLBer in a 3-4. He is very similar to Lamar Woodley in my mind. Their combine numbers for speed/agility were about the same.

I certainly think that Ayers is better suited as a 3-4 OLber.

Brown fits the Lawrence Timmons role for the Steelers as the fast ILBer.

What we really need is that true run stuffing ILBer.
