Dennard is the #1 CB on nfl draft scout but i think Gilbert is the top guy and the only CB you think of taking 11th.

What you are looking for in a CB that high in the draft is a 4.40 40 or better and a sub 6.90 cone. Never take a CB high in the draft unless he has a sub 7.00 cone.

It is all about the cone with CBs. Richard Sherman had a mediocre 40 time of 4.53 but his cone time was good(6.82) especially for a guy with his size. Revis ran a 6.56 cone as well as a sub 4.4 40. That is ideal.

Remember Joe Haden had a crappy 40 at the combine but a good sub 7.00 cone and then a more acceptable 40 time at his pro day.

At 11 you want a 6 foot, 200 lb guy who can tackle with those kinds of times.

Yeah. Gilbert is the man, on paper.

The things that scare me about Dennard is that he seemingly lacks the athleticism to be a top pick and he also enjoyed the benefits of a monster defense that put him in favorable scenarios.

He also never had to go up against the best receiver in the Big Ten, Allen Robinson. I would have liked to have seen that matchup. ARob had no trouble with Stanly Jean-Baptiste and Roby from Ohio State (who was terrible last year).

Man I'm going to miss Robinson. I'm a huge PSU fan. I wouldn't pass on him if he lasts to us round 2. He should go mid to late first though.

Dennard is a Verner clone. Not overly athletic but smart, savvy, tackles, and makes plays regardless of pure speed.

Why would we want to replace a type of player we already have with the same type of player in the draft?

How do we ever expect to get ahead in this league with this logic. We constantly let players go after their rookie contracts, just to draft the same positions the following draft.

Yes the argument that Verner might demand to much money, we also drafted 2 CB last year I would like to see Blidi Wreh-Wilson get a chance.

If not I'll much rather see Gilbert at 11.

Just saw on Twitter he ran a 4.42. Not bad. Better than I and a lot of others thought.

That does help his case a good bit, speed was a question for him

Ended up being a 4.51 but still a very good time for him. Gilbert and Verrett ran high 4.3's.

I agree with RollTide, if we're at #11, gun to our head, and have to chose a CB... I'm taking Gilbert. Although, I think DET takes him at #10.
