Actually we were in the top 10 in sacks in 2012 and 2010.

Where are all these first and 2nd rd DBs we have been drafting? We have used a boatload of draft capital and free agent money on our front 7. Morgan in the first, Ayers and Brown in the 2nd, Gooden, Martin and Casey in the 3rd and Mccarthey in the 4th.

We signed Sammy Hll to decent money shouldn't we expect something out of these guys?

I'm not saying we have been drafting secondary guys early just saying we should build up the guys who play in front of them first. We absolutely should expect something unfortunately it hasn't worked out that way besides Casey. I'm reserving judgement on guys like Brown, Ayers, Gooden, and Martin. I think those 4 will find a home in our new defense, I hope.

You can't have hard rules like that. If a Troy Palamalu is sitting there you can't just pass on him because the front 7 is not yet good enough. You want to draft a great player.

I agree there is always exceptions when a once in a decade talent comes along. I'm just saying I place a higher premium on pass rushers and MLB then CB/S. Would I have passed on a Patrick Peterson to take a raw pass rusher no absolutely not but I'm just stating which position I place higher value on.

All three of these mocks have Justin Gilbert the Cb out of oklahoma state going 10th to the Lions. Look at their respected mocks and think of who the best player would be left when we pick 11th.So they feel that Gilbert will be the top Cb taken in the draft.

One mock has us taking Mosley, one mock has us taking Clinton-Dix and the other Jake Matthews.

I can't for the life of me see Matthews lasting to the 11th pick. So i don't see us taking him but if he is there you can't really pass can you?

Let's do a simple numbers game.

If all three of the top pass rushers are off the board but no DBs how could you ever justify taking a pass rusher?

That means the 4th best edge rusher is better than your top CB or safety? Same with defensive tackle types like Hageman or Tuitt. If you have your pick of all the big men, DT types or the 4th best edge rusher who do you take?

2012 was extremely inflated. I know there were 7 sacks in the final game against the Jags. And I'm pretty sure we had similar numbers in the first Jags game.

Our pass rush sucked in 2012. In 2010 it was okay... That was all Babin, but he still sucked.

I don't want Dennard with the 11th pick, nor should the Titans. That would be one hell of a reach for us.

Let's just see what Coty and Wilson can do under Horton if we don't sign Verner. They could be diamonds in the rough with a competent DC.
