So you objected to Roos and Stewart getting big contracts that ended a year apart? You draft a guy you get his services for 4 years. Uncertain after that. I don''t see that as a problem.

So seriously you are about to make your pick so you pass on a player you are convinced will be a star in this league because you are worried about some financial implications 2-3 years down the road?

The best way to guarantee you don't have to pay too much for players is to draft players who are not worth a damn.

If he's a guaranteed star you use him as trade bait and stock pile. I'm not against taking Watkins but long term wise it doesn't make sense. And your Tackle equation doesn't add up to 2 firsts, a second and a third in three years. So no, your brilliance is dull.

Not only is it expensive draft wise, you probably won't be able to retain them all. Just pissing it to the wind. And on top of that.... You still have questions at qb, tackle and DE.... Yup. TAKE THE WR!

When building a team, wideouts are finishing touches... Doorknobs, say. We need a foundation first.

No I'm not kidding at all. We need a qb first without a doubt, that is our BIGGEST need, a 3rd wr is a big luxury pick that we don't need at this point. Yes teams use 3 wr all the time but they don't use 2 first round picks and a high 2nd on the field. If our qb isn't there and a guy like watkins is left on the board then we need to move that pick, if we can't move I would be fine with taking him. And yes wright and hunter have 4yr deals, but wright has two left and hunter has 3 left. How exactly does having 3 good players at a position that sees a lot of pt prevent you from overpaying?

I do like taking BPA but WR is just a hard idea at 11 to wrap my head around. Im kind of sick of WRs early TBH

Ok which QB do you take with the 11th pick? Most mocks have the top 3 guys coming off in the first 10 picks.

There are 3 pac 12 QBs who would have had 1st rd grades had they come out in this draft. All 3 decided to stay in school. Mariotta, Hundley and Mannion. Without them in this draft the pool it is not deep enough to say you can take a QB at 11.

The top 3 pass rushers will likely be gone also in the top 10 picks. The top MLB will likely be gone.

The best players where we pick are WRs and OTs.

We have drafted 4 linebackers in the last 3 drafts. What if alll 4 are stud players we couldn't afford to pay them all?

If Wright, Hunter and this third WR are all good enough to demand a big contract then that is a positive thing. You get all three guys together for 2 seasons and each guy individually for 4 seasons. If in the long run we lose one we still got him for 4 years.

4 years is all you can guarantee from any player you draft.

Didn't we do that last year when we signed a top OG, drafted another? We also signed a DT, Sammie Hill to a decent deal.

Linebackers? We have drafted 4 in the last 3 drafts 2 in the 2nd rd.

Any stud player at #11 is great, but you can't put a wideout before a QB or MLB especially when you need both terribly....That being said again, you take Watkins or trade bait him if he falls, but we ALL know that he won't so it's really not a point. Defense keeps teams in the game, and we would be foolish to ignore that.
