Overall athleticism and getting off blocks. He's listed at 257. He could probably stand to lose about 15 lbs to gain some speed.

Shayne Skove is the best MLB in this draft. He won't test well, but his play says he's a good football player.

Reminds me of Colin McCarthy. Too small, too slow, but a playmaker.. except Borland can stay healthy.

Completely agree. I would love to see him in the middle of our defense.

I agree, one of the best players in this whole draft if we judged him only as a player. A similar caliber player to Luke Kuechly in college but Kuechly ran a 4.57 40 and Skov might not crack 4.70. Still very much worth a 2nd rd pick. Between Skov and borland i would take Skov.

If we are looking for a TED type ILB in the middle rounds Trey De priest might be a guy to look at. He's stoutly built and has very good nose for the football between the TEs. He's got more speed and range than most TED type prospects.

If he is there in the 4th rd he is worth a look.

As I watched him I thought he'd run 4.65 or so. What makes you think he won't crack 4.7?

As far as I can tell, his latest 40 time was a 4.9

but 40's are overrated, so if he looks like he's a 4.6 on tape thats great for us, he has game speed.

No one runs their 40 on Sundays so its quite misleading.

Damn, 4.9 is damn near Brandon Spikes territory slow. Spikes turned out to be a pretty good player but he's also much bigger than Skov. Oh well, tape over measurables .

I think even if borland does end up playing slow he can overcome and with our speed at linebacker he would be just fine. Wouldn't mind him or skov in the second, much rather get them in the second than spend our 11 on that bama guy.
