Stop talking about Frank Gore now please. The guy is past his prime for sure. If he can't light sh*t up like crazy on that offense, there's no sense discussing him. He was a good solid RB, but he's done.

 

What? You mean when teh 49ers run that read option the threat of Kaepernick taking off in the other direction with the ball makes it harder to find a hole for a RB? Please explain.

 

Actually you're wrong. It makes it more difficult on the defense especially in read options and bootlegs.

i'll say this...I think ALL of us on here would like to see a less injury prone and accurate QB on this team. It would truly benefit these receivers. I will also mention that our OL is geared towards RUNNING which is what they wanted last year, making it a better for more of a pocket passer as I am not sure pass blocking is the direction or specialty of the line..Especially if they go out and get Robinson in the draft. I am not saying one style of QB is better than the other, but I will take a TRUE pocket QB ANYDAY over an athletic runner of a QB personally.

normally id say blah to a highlight reel, but this guy is CJ 4 years ago, every other play becomes a highlight.

 

"The type" of back they'd like to have. Not "the back" they'd like to have.

Gore had his worst year since his rookie year, statistically, in 2013. The guy is close to done. It's a bad comparison. Or at least one that "should" be favorable for the CJ fans, but Gore still ran better.

 

He gets no where near the amount of attention CJ gets. His style is similar but its a much slower version. Not to mention they actually get creative with him. They ran a reverse to him. I can't remember the last time we did something other than run it up the gut with CJ.
