I never had understood that argument against McCarthy really. All I know is, when the dude is on the field he makes plays.

So you watch him and honestly think he's going full speed all/most of the time?

Yea but he also misses some plays because he's out of position. Fokou always starts in the right spot, then gets outran cause he's slow

Know b/c we didnt get back to that style. We may have drafted players for it, but we tried to be a pass first team. Not a power running team. We tried to in the beginning and found out it wasn't working b/c we didnt judge our FA/draftees well enough.

Using your logic, it would make sense then.

We started throwing the ball more because that's the system Fitzpatrick is "successful" in. He needs the spread/shotgun with short passes because he doesn't have the arm to go deep.

I can't blame Loggains for that. You should play to the strengths of your QB because he's the most important guy on the field.

Hopefully he has a speedy recovery so we can cut him in a timely manor once FA starts.

I respect your point of view and you do make some sense. My response is really directed more at what I feel is the general sentiment rather than any one poster in particular. I agree that to build a team around CJ at this point would most defintely be a mistake but I also think that to cut him right now would also be a mistake. I don't trust mid round rookies or journeyman cast offs to come in an replace his production which is much better than many on here pretend it is in an attempt to downplay anything positive CJ does.

If the plan were cut CJ and somehow magically acquire Jamaal Charles or Marshawn Lynch then sign me up but this is not the case. The situation is we're thinking about cutting one of our top 3 offensive players on a team that struggles offensively over a measely 4 million dollars (can't save the full 8 mil) that doesn't even belong to us and relying on a guy like Joique Bell or some unnamed 4th round rookie to come in an save the day. It just seems dumb to me and like it has more to do with a petty dislike of the guy. Of course nothing personal to you either :).
