Wow, this is true. I totally forgot about Stafford getting hurt in both his first two seasons. BUT he played well in his third season. I guess this could be argument for Locker still having a chance at being great. Sam Bradford is also a VERY injury prone QB and looks like the Rams might be giving him yet ANOTHER chance. Don't think he has ever played all 16 games going back to 2010. Rams also had O-line issues like we did.

I still think we need to draft someone

Ah, criticizing spelling... The "last resort" for someone losing a debate.

For the record... for some reason my phone auto corrected it. Not sure why it had a brain fart.

Yeah. I see no reason not to prepare for life without Locker.
And if Locker lights it up all season long - ok, plays well - cross that bridge when we get there.

QB is a huge issue we have, but for the time being and this season, I think we should focus on other issues. Either way no QB that we sign or draft is going to immediately lead us to a superbowl. We have to think about other areas first, let Locker start the year and get a cheap backup. That way next season if Locker doesn't pan out for us this year we can just focus on QB and have all our other needs (OL, LB, RB, DL) covered from the draft and free agency this year.

Why waste a good draft pick or good money on a player in free agency for a just-in-case situation? Locker is the guy, he has this season to prove himself. No one we bring in or draft 11th will have the ability and potential that Locker brings us from day one of the season.

I'm looking long - term. After next season we will need to re - sign Locker or go a totally different direction. No idea what the QB options will be next off - season.

    Crap shoot.

I hate that Stafford stat people keep referring to. It is an obscure stat it is not the norm it is an outlier that people are using to make themselves feel good about Jake as if he is going to follow the same unlikely path. The fact of the matter is he was brought in because of his arm and legs which are supposed to work in unison to scare defenses and make him a weapon. Basically he isn't good enough throwing so his legs offer that added element that made him so coveted. We would have to ask him to become a pocket passer which I'm not sure he can be just to avoid unnecessary abuse from scrambling and moving around. Stafford is a pocket passer that is why he has been able to turn it around a drop the injury prone label. He doesn't take very many hits and isn't neglected to unnecessary punishment like Jake will.

Jake is best throwing on the move and running around where defenses have no idea if he is going to throw or run and he loses that element if he wants to stay healthy cause his body just isn't durable enough to withstand it like the Big Bens, Cam Newtons, etc. I've accepted the fact Jake will be here this season and eat my words if I'm wrong but odds are in my favor I'm not. We will have a new QB whether it be this season or next season.

New Bucs GM Jason Licht is open to trading the No. 7 overall pick.
Specifically, Licht is "open to anything" with the Bucs' first-rounder. No. 7 could be a prime spot for teams looking to get in position for the likes of UCF's Blake Bortles or Fresno State's Derek Carr. Although Mike Glennon faded badly down the stretch of his rookie year, the Bucs don't appear to be seriously considering using their first pick on a signal caller.

The fact that they are not interested in staying at 7 to get a QB, given that they have Mike Glennon, tells me a lot about the caliber of this class. I have said this before, but I am just not seeing anyone at QB worth a high #1 pick this season.

I wish people would stop mentioning Derek Carr....I shudder every time I see the name anywhere close to the word "draft".
