Casey could hold his own as a NT, if that is what they decided. I believe our biggest problem is at the 2 MLB positions. We didn't even have one good MLB this season.

Next up is OLB. Ayers and ???? We have no other good pass rushers at that spot. Morgan is not athletic enough to be effective at OLB in the system. He is somewhere in between 3-4 DE and 4-3 DE material, IMO.

3-4 DE spot is covered. NT.. Gotta be Casey and Hill at this point, until a suitable replacement is found. Pitotua has always been a DE.

If we make Casey a NT and give him one gap responsibility, I think it will work out just fine. 300 lbs is no wimp. Waay better to have a fierce 300 pounder than a mountain of fat at NT who is a complete lard (Mount Cody) who will only be able to play 2 downs at a time before needing an inhaler or an oxygen mask.

I agree. He is smaller than the average NT but not too small. He is however too short to play DE. Just because someone is a good 4-3 DT does not mean they will make a good 3-4 DE. Look at Warren Sapp who was terrible when he played 3-4 DE.

You are right here. We could need a prototypical 3-4 ILB.

Morgan does not fit the 3-4 at all. Remember though he is a free agent. I do however think Lavar Edwards can play OLB in the 3-4. And I think Brown could still be good at OLB in the 3-4. Plus we may be able to make better use of Wimbley.

I think Hill could be good as a DE in a 3-4.

Can't we just get someone like Jamarcus Russel and play him at NT? In his condition, he's only a few cheeseburgers a day away from being a true NT. Heck, there's probably someone on GoTitans fat enough to clog up the middle.. play him at NT.

I think Wimbley gots to go.
He's taken the franchise to the cleaners with that contract. They would have to make him restructure for under 1 million per year, or cut him. They would be crazy to let him stay after the last few seasons.

Hey all I wanted to do was find a way for Karl Klug to get PT.

But Casey has played LB while Gray was here.

He can play DE in an 3-4 no problem at all. The only issue he'd have, based on lack of height, is arm length. Personally I think having short arms compared to a 6'6" OT is pretty overrated but there are those who see it as a big deal.

This is why we'll be trading down a little bit in the draft and be selecting Louis Nix in the mid-first round. Well, at least, that's what I would do.
