I think the Pats got it right this season. The league is not about one feature back anymore. They just tore up the Colts in the playoffs using 3 different guys. No one RB is feature and no one gets enough carries to be a stand out, and each of the 3 being used bring something different to the table. Makes way more sense than paying ONE guy a bunch of $ and then him get hurt or not live up to the payout.

Read the last paragraph. It seems PFT believes a team may risk it on Chris Johnson. We should send CJ for the best possible draft pick, but what round would that be?

We already dont have a 3rd. We're switching to the 3-4 & do need additional parts (OLB, NT, ILB). We need a RT right now and potentially a QB & RB. We need more picks. Many have already brought up a CJ trade, but this thread can harvest those thoughts.

What round pick does CJ get us?

Why would any team in their right mind trade for a guy that is going to get cut?

Convince them he's not getting cut.

So they don't have to worry about him picking another team. If he's a free agent, he can sign with any team that offers him a contract. If he gets traded, the team that trades for him will own him.

LOL I don't think he wasn't asking how trades technically work.

Any team willing to pay CJ his full salary can get him after he's cut. No one else will offer that much money. No need to pay him and give the Titans something.

I think he will renegotiate with the Titans, and eventually take a slight pay cut. He's still worth good money for the home run option that he brings to the table

The amount of $ we save by cutting him is overwhelmingly large. Every team in the NFL knows this and they are not going to take that over.

What if a team that isn't that great offers C.J. the same money he's making now, and the Broncos or Patriots offer him less? Should that other team feel sure he'll accept the most money and sign, or would they feel concerned C.J. would go to the great team for less. Just sayin. If you really want him, and your team isn't projected be a real conteder, there's only one way to ensure it.
