I'd rather have an offensive minded coach just for the sake of keeping up with the rest of the league. We need to be scoring 30+ points a game on a regular basis to keep up with the 49ers, Seahawks, Broncos and Patriots.

Look at his QB's those last 3 years. Derek Anderson, Kevin Kolb, John Skelton and Max Hall. What more would you expect?

Yea the whole "if you dont have a QB" argument is valid. Wiz is a good coach, even though he called a crap 1st half in his last game.

4 teams remains in the playoffs:
    Bill Belicheck: Defensive background
    Jim Harbaugh: Offensive background
    John Fox: Defensive background
    Pete Carroll: Defensive background

We can add the 4 eliminated teams:
    Chuck Pagano: Defensive background
    Mike McCoy: Offensive background
    Ron Rivera: Defensive background
    Sean Payton: Offensive background

And add the 4 losing teams in the wild card round:
    Andy Reid: Offensive background
    Chip Kelly: Offensive background
    Marvin Lewis: Defensive background
    Mike McCarthy: Offensive background

TL;DR: Of the 12 HCs in this years playoffs, there's 6 from either side of the ball.

The 49ers scored 26 points a game, the Seahawks 26 and the Patriots 27.6. So try again.

The Seahawks have the best defense in the league and the 49ers one of the best. That's why they are successful.

So he is not some offensive genius then? He had Larry Fitzgerald and Boldin the whole time he was there.

The average rank in scoring defense for the Arizona teams while he was there was 22nd.I guess we need to get used to that.

I see nothing Whizenhunt did that promoted a winning culture there.

Actually he didn't. He didn't have Boldin any of those 3 years you mentioned earlier.

Another characteristic of Whisenhunt's teams. Soft!

Average rank of those Arizona teams in rushing yardage 29.5. Those numbers didn't change after Kurt Warner retired either. Even with those crap QBs they averaged 10th in the nfl in passing attempts.

So the defense was not good, the running game nonexistent and only when the personnel is elite was the passing game good. What kind of resume is that?

    Soft!
