The Titans have granted the Giants permission to interview Dowell Loggains for their vacant offensive coordinator’s spot.

Loggains served his first full season as coordinator with the Titans last season, and the team’s offense finished ranked 22nd in the NFL. He was promoted to the position in 2012 after the team parted ways with Chris Palmer near the end of the season.

Loggains remains under contract with the Titans, even after the dismissal of former head coach Mike Munchak over the weekend, though he’s not expected to return under a new coaching staff in 2014.

Kevin Gilbride, who served as offensive coordinator with the Giants last season, recently announced his retirement.

    Poor Eli.

Gians do have some major talent at WR so maybe Loggains if hired would open up the small box he works inside of.

Good luck to him. I doubt he'll get it though if the Giants have any sense.

You never know how a person will do in a new job. You can't shine..........lack of talent, no matter how good a coach you are.

Loggains is a very QB friendly coach. The scheme would be what Eli is used to. Option routes.

Loggains isn't a coach that comes in and says heres my play book. He goes to the QB and builds around what they want to run... I guess that's a good thing but he isn't creative... He isn't going to make you go awe.... He's going to put the QB in a system that he feels comfortable in... And cross his tiny fingers.

Since joining the Titans, and before his promotion to OC, Loggains worked under Dinger, Chow, Dinger again, and Palmer. Different guys, different philosophies, different QBs, different offenses, different circumstances.

Like any coach, he's probably tried to take the best of what each had to offer while discarding other facets. Not to mention his previous experience and background in college and high school.

He may not be in the good graces of Tommy Smith or Ruston Webster, but the fact that the Giants, and possibly the Lions, have shown interest in him, speaks well of his reputation around the league. He'll land on his feet somewhere.

I haven't checked to see who else the Giants may be interested in as OC. Perhaps Loggains has only a casual interest from the Giants because he worked with Palmer, who coached and helped to develop Eli.

I bet Loggains does a good job with them and some on this board try desperately to find a reason for why he has nothing to do with the success.
