The thing is, you know exactly what you are getting with Murray. An NFL backup. A Mike Glennon at best. He won't bust, but he won't surprise you.

If we get a coach who thinks he can develop a QB...

Brett Smith, Wyoming. Will be drafted around the same time as Murray, and is basically a bigger, more mentally stable Johnny Manziel. With a better arm.

If this kid played in a good conference I honestly believe he would be the top rated QB.

I'm not a Wyoming fan, but I have family who is. They had a terrible team around him and he still won games by himself.

Certainly high risk, but has as high a ceiling as anyone.

I can pull up a small segment of games from Fitzpatrick that will make him look pretty good too. Actually, I've done it before.

Fact is, Locker isn't a proven commodity, he hasn't earned anything in this league, and he has failed to stay healthy. A new Head Coach is going to want to go get his guy instead of marrying himself to Locker and all of that risk. It's the nature of the business.

Let's give Locker a break. With Frodo as our cooridinator; the design and execution of the line blocking has been suspect all season, all our quaterbacks were running for their lives, and our tight ends and fullback were just there to block some more. You have to give a guy some short range targets in order for him to dump it off quick before the rush.

A lot of teams with grown up cooridinators used tight ends to catch passes. How many catches did Stevens' have this year, I know more that Britt, but he was never that bad before. We were so worried about C.J. breaking off a big one we neglected pocket protection too much in my opinion. .. . . . Give Jake a decent plan and he will be much better . . . you'll see.

After the latest Munch interviews and understanding better how this went down I get the impression the Titans FO isn't very fond of Jake Locker. Apparently, Munch agreed to fire the guys the FO listed but Loggains was the breaking point. Would the FO really fire their HC over the OC? Would it not be reasonable to bring him back for his second year and avoid a 3rd in 3 years for Locker? If they planned to build around Locker or even have a bit more faith I think they would've helped Locker in anyway possible but clearly this wasn't the case. With Locker only having a year left on his deal, the FO probably feels as if Locker isn't the franchise QB at this point.

Yea that's probably something worth mentioning. I'm pretty sure the locker experiment is close to over. Fact we brought in Tyler Wilson said something was happening behind the scenes.

The FO knows locker is too inconsistent to be long term. Unfortunate.

Quick question... Did Webster have final say in that draft pick? Or was it still during transition? I forget

I am gonna go with transition because there was a lot going on that off season, no VY, No fisher but just going off what I would think would happen is Webster has final say in draft pick, I would think GM would always have final say...... that is their main job, get the players in so our coaches can coach!

Well if I remember that was the previous gms last year. I think...

He might have had more say in that pick than we know.?

I didn't pull a small segment of games from Locker i pulled the ones he started and played significantly.

So you are irate that Munch got fired then? I mean how can we justify firing a coach who went 7-9 with such horrible talent at the QB position?

New HC will be asked to use Locker for the first year. If that doesn't work, he'll be allowed to draft the successsor. I believe the FO wants Jake to succeed, and will be given a chance in 2014 to prove he can stay healthy and progress as a franchise QB. It will be a real challenge, given a new system and all new staff, but Jake knows this is his last chance as a Titan to seal the deal. We picked up Tyler Wilson as a developmental guy. If we draft a QB, we'll have to cut Fitztragic. That leaves Wilson and a rookie to backup Locker. I just don't think they'll roll with that lineup. I see them sticking with Fitz or upgrading his spot with a better veteran to back Locker. Wilson is just our new Rusty.
