These are the teams who will pick before us if we get 16:

    9) Buffalo, 6-9, .507
    10) Tennessee, 6-9, .529
    11) NY Giants, 6-9, .542
    12) Detroit, 7-8, .464
    13) Pittsburgh, 7-8, .484
    14) NY Jets, 7-8, .489
    15) St. Louis, 7-8, .538
    16) Green Bay, 7-7-1, .449
One team (St Louis), possibly two (depending on Big Ben) will potentially pick a QB

It made a big difference last year... it can make a big difference this year.

Nice observation. Only position (of need) we could potentially miss out on by not picking in the top 10 is DE and maybe MLB.

Which player can you sit here and say without hindsight that we are absolutely screwed if we miss on them by 1 (or a few) draft positions?

Not seeing any myself at this time. There are QBs I like but none I'm just insane wanting.

Either I misunderstood Hammer or you're misunderstanding me or a combination of both, but I was referring to Munchak's job.

Had we lost to the Jags last year in week 17 to fall to 5-11 and 0-6 in the division, he would've been fired. I also feel like losing to Houston would seal his fate. Winning could end up saving his job... not that this would make any sense, but that's how we roll.

The draft position is just a bonus at this point... That's not my biggest concern. I just want Munch and co. gone.

Precisely. Which is why you should want the pool of players to choose from to be as large as possible, correct? Seems pretty logical to me.

It should be noted I'm not calling for the team/players to tank. I'm merely asking what the fans want to happen.

Also, there seems to be some confusion here that I and others somehow think that a top 10 pick automatically means you get a good player. That's not the case by any means. I know there are PLENTY of top 10 busts and there are PLENTY of late first/late round exceptional players. I just don't understand why you wouldn't want to have the most options possible.

This one win could end up costing us the guy we really want. And that guy could, could end up being an elite player. That's all I'm saying.

I understand, but I just think its so minuscule that it doesn't really matter
