I am ready like all other fans of this team to finally have a guy we can call our own and say we developed him into what he is ourselves.

In the Titans short history we have Steve Mcnair,Vince Young and Jake Locker as the measuring stick.Of course Mcnair has been the best we've had and got us the farthest.Vince Young played well at times but by the end of 2010 was history.Jake Locker has had three years to prove something but can't stay healthy.

I do know that in the last decade every QB we've brought in as backups whether it be Kerry Collins,Matt Hasselbeck or Ryan Fitzpatrick all end up being the starter for one reason or another. And once they are the starter more often than not it doesn't work out well.

I like what the Redskins did here recently and what Green Bay did a while back and thats draft two QB's in the same draft and let them compete for the starting job.I really do believe that increases our chance of getting a good QB.I do know that between RGIII and Cousins that one of those players will make it.

In 2010 Carolina drafted Jimmy Clausen in the second round and Tony Pike in the sixth. The very next year they drafted Cam Newton and he has turned into a good franchise QB.The thing is Carolina finally did get their guy.

I don't know what they plan on doing with Jake Locker but here is my scenario. They need to cut Fitzpatrick he is a turnover machine. If they plan on keeping Locker bring in another guy through the draft and let them battle it out.If Locker loses the competition he would be a good backup to have especially if we get lucky and bring in the right QB.

Plenty of teams went through lean years with crappy QB's until they finally got lucky.Carolina went through quite a bit before landing Cam Newton.San Francisco was mediocre for years then got Kaepernick.Seattle went through some tough years until they landed Russell Wilson.Detroit went through a lot before they finally nabbed Matthew Stafford.

I definitely think we need to keep trying until we can get a good QB in here. The veteran way does work to an extent if you've already built a good team.Carson Palmer is doing great in Arizona.Alex Smith is working out in Kansas City.

I like your thought process. I will only add that you would probably want a top quality QB coach.

this arseclown is the Titans QB coach. He failed as WR coach so they moved him out of the way into QBs. Of course Bilbo will be assisting so there is that.

Bottom line the Titans are NOT prepared too develop a franchise QB at this time based on the staff in place. This is why veteran QBs have been brought in too assist JL.

Again I might be totally wrong here, but I just dont see DR and Bilbo developing a franchise QB

The jury is still out on how that worked out for them. The Redskins have quite a few holes on their team so a case can be made that filling one with the Cousins pick would have made the team better overall.

The Titans tried drafting multiple WRs and DEs in the past with limited success. If the Titans were in the position of being a couple of positions short, that might be an option. They're not. They have too many holes on both sides of the ball.

I agree. It takes the right qb with the right coach. One without the other does not cut it in this league.

We need a TRUE offensive coordinator and QB coach. Somebody who can groom our franchise QB, whom hopefully we find in this years draft.

    Hopefully.

    I would take:
    Blake Bortles 2nd
    Aaron Murray 4th or later

This Quarterback class is not as good as it is made out to be as you saw last year only 1 Quarterback was drafted in the first. Could be another year where a lot of Quarterbacks fall out of the first.

Can we have a site moratorium on talking about drafting Aaron Murray? It's probably not going to even happen.

Maybe, but it also takes more than one year for 'new' guys to mesh with a team. I definitely think we got some really good players and I'd much rather have the lot of guys we picked up then a single Mario Williams for example.

Also, throw in the fact that the overall schemes weren't too creative (on both sides of the ball) in addition to the fact we had (at best) an inconsistent offense that often kept the D on the field for too long, and you don't have exactly a recipe for success.

As for all those holes you talked about, I still think a good QB and better coaches could cover all that up real quick.

Look at the Patriots, Broncos, and Packers. All 3 very mediocre teams made elite by top notch qb play. Having an elite qb covers up multiple holes real quick.
