First thing, if you haven't already heard, the 2014 NFL Draft is now scheduled to take place in May and not April like in previous years.

As things stand now, we have Kenny Britt, Antonio Johnson, Marc Mariani, Mike Otto, Chris Spencer, Rob Turner, and Damian Williams all set to hit free agency in a few weeks. As far as I am concerned, none of them need to be brought back. We can afford to let those 7 guys go which in turn frees up about $7.9M in cap space.

The scheduled free agent Titans I feel deserve new contracts are Bernard Pollard, Ropati Pitoitua, and Alterraun Verner. Both Pollard & Pitoitua were brought in on a 1-year "show me what you can do" trial bases, and since have proven they were well worth their contracts.

I dont know where re-signing those 3 guys will leave us cap-wise since they're all severely under paid, but if needed we can cut OT David Stewart for a savings of $6.4M, RB Chris Johnson for another $4M in space, DE Kamerion Wimbley for another $2.4M in savings, or QB Ryan Fitzpatrick for an additional $3.25M in savings. That gives us $16M to play with in free agency in all those guys get dumped (March 11th).

If we cut the fat and dump useless players we could potentially have $21.95M to re-sign Pollard, Verner, and Pitoitua, among a few other free agents. (Team has about $2.5M in dead money they'll carry into 2014)

If the team follows what I laid out above, and I think they could (many fans here already agree on many of those things) heading into the draft we'll need: OT, RB, and QB for sure. Everything else would be up in the air, and with free agency coming before the draft, we may fill some holes there. Anyone pinning for us to draft a defensive lineman in the 1st could turn to free agency, there are a lot of attractive defensive linemen scheduled to be available.

So with all that said, where do you want the Titans looking in the 1st round of the draft?

Especially when BPA this season will fall somewhere between DE/LB/OT/QB

I think Damian Williams should stay. I dont think we have ever given him enough play time for his talent, and he wouldnt have a huge $$$ contract. A for our first round pick, we have enough needs so we should just pick the best player on the board. I think we could even move down a few spots pick up some more picks and draft that OT out of Michigan.

I think the only exception would be RB, OG, and WR. Corner, but that is if Verner goes.

Guards, please no. RBs in the top ten is the dumbest thing ever now. And I still wouldn't be against WRs.

He's stuck behind 3 very talented WR's. I've seen enough to know we'll always be wondering how good he could have been.

if he's content with remaining a 4, I'll have him back. I like Damian, but I believe he will want to explore other options and break a starting lineup somewhere.
