And who would they have cut to keep him there?

—The Titans could place him on injured-reserve recall, which means that he’d be eligible to start practicing after six weeks of the regular season and would be eligible to play after eight weeks. But before the Titans could place Mariani on injured-reserve recall, he would have to be part of the initial 53-man roster from the time final cuts are announced on Saturday until next Tuesday. That means the Titans would have to cut someone else in order to keep Mariani for those four days.

Those 4 days would have been an issue.

Walter and his surgeried back would have been my choice

Titans choose too put Walter on IR Recall and choose too shut pro bowl returner MM down for the season and roll with that idiot ReyTARD. Despite his dubious stats he made horrid decisions in 12. Especially in the PR job - just stupid fair catches. Did I mention ReyTARD made pretty real dumb return decisions in 12? cause he did.

I won't bother to argue with you because you seem dead set on your beliefs, but I think you're wrong if you think the coaches only design and call plays. Coaching is much more about motivating a guy and putting him in position to play above and beyond his talent level. In my opinion our coaching staff is incapable of doing that.

This is the same idiotic reasoning people use with our defence... when it goes well it's Williams credit, when it goes bad it's Gray's fault. When we win games Munchak is a hero for getting the players to perform, when we lose games the players are the villains for "ruining it".

    Fact is:
Munchak have had guys on the field who didn't perform when he had plenty of other options (see Rob Turner, Darius Reynaud, Kenny Britt, CJ?).
Munchak fired the ST and LB coaches and those units took a major step back this season.
Munchak employs an OC who has no previous experience and the most ridiculous tendencies I've seen outside of youth level football.
Several of the players are publicly complaining about a poor and lethargic team mentality, which is a direct reflection upon management.

I defended Munchak earlier, because I thought he could get players to buy into a philosophy of winning, physical football, but from what the players are saying lately that appears not to be the case. Add to that his penchant for hiring based on relations rather than qualifications and I feel he needs to go.

Do you honestly think the Titans is the only team where players make mistakes? Good teams, with good coaching overcome players mistakes.

The game against the Texans should never have come down to one poor throw by Locker. We had them beat, but then decided to go ultra conservative with a non-functioning run game which allowed them back in it. That's on coaching.

The game against the Jaguars the team came out flat and unprepared. That's on coaching.

The game against the Colts we start out great, but the Colts adjust their schemes and playcalling after halftime and we do not. That's on coaching.

A single mistake does not cost you a game. If you ask the Patriots they would say they should never have been in a position where a questionable call or a fumble cost them the game. But with the Titans it's apparently a convenient excuse.

Once again "fault" and "blame" are irrelevant. Munchak makes the call what players are on the field. He is RESPONSIBLE for player execution. If they aren't getting it done, he is RESPONSIBLE to put player out there that are. The players simply haven't bought in to what he's selling IMO.

I believe we disagreed on this point earlier this year. I doubt we'll agree this time around. You are most definitely entitled to your opinion though, at least you're consistent in your thinking.
