Exactly. Frustration with losing and the desire to win is causing people to put it ALL on Munch or simply not care that it's not all his fault. It's tough to accept that the mistakes on the field are out of our control. It's easier to think that we have some type of control and that if Much is gone things will improve when it really seems like it's much more complex than that.

I don't think anyone is putting it ALL on Munch. Most of us freely admit that he's had some bad hands dealt to him. And I don't think anyone is saying that we have a Super Bowl caliber roster. But that doesn't change the fact that in 3 years Munch just hasn't been able to get it done. He's accomplished exactly nothing. He hasn't moved this team forward. And depending on how the rest of this season goes, he may have in fact moved it backwards.

I kind of get the impression from some that the HC is only to blame if we lose in blowout fashion? Is this correct?

Do we not agree that the staff can make mistakes that deter a W, even in close games? This staff has been called out many times for their lack of adjustments during games by very good football minds. Neil O'Donnell did an excellent job of explaining what the offense failed to do after halftime with regards to play calling in the Colts game. It went well beyond a dropped pass, there were things the coaches failed to do. And the failure to adjust during games has been something that's been going on for three years now.

Can players not play better or worse depening on the system they're in? Do we know that the coaching staff is allowing these players to realize their potential? Are they properly utilizing the talent that they have?

Could different schemes get more out of the offense or defense? We've seen some benefit as a result of changing schemes (Greg Williams) on the defensive side.

There was a player quoted at the end of Fisher's tenure as saying, "We're playing checkers, while they're playing chess." I don't know if Munch was the right hire if we're trying to make it to the chess tournament. It hasn't been blowout after blowout this year, but I wonder if a different staff could get more out of what's here, especially on offense.

PK has written recently about the team taking on Munch's personality, and how that's potentially a problem when it comes to stopping this slump the team's in. Most are keeping their head down and going with the staus quo.

My point is, there are many things beyond a fumble or dropped pass that I fear are going on under Munch and staff.

Munch has been stupid this season Mariani should have been back at least four weeks ago and we would at least have two more wins.

All the fan base does is fill the stadium and provide revenue. We're fine. Civil arguments is what drives this board. If everyone agreed on everything, this place would be boring. Nothing wrong with agreeing to disagree.

Munch and Ruston have greatly improved this roster. Remember how Hasselbeck said one phone call from Munch was enough to get him to come here? I bet the story was similar for Pollard, Walker, and everyone else we have added.

    1) If Locker hits his throw on 3rd down vs Houston, we win. That overthrow was Munch's fault?

    2) If we don't spot KC a TD on that punt, and Fitz doesn't make two terrible throws, and Pollard doesn't hit Smith late out of bounds, we win. You could argue that some of those mistakes were on the coaching, but at the end of the day, Munch didn't make those mistakes.

    3) If Fitz doesn't make more bad decisions at Seattle, and if Brown falls on that fumble, we win. Not Munch's mistakes.

    4) If CJ doesn't cough the ball up TWICE (which lead to 14 points for Jax) we win. If Chance doesn't hold in the end zone, we might win. Did Munchak fumble that ball? Did Munchak make a rookie mistake by holding? Our team played so badly that day, and yet we STILL almost won. inb4 it was Jacksonville. This is the NFL. Every team is competitive enough to be in the league.

    5) If Wiggles doesn't fumble it away, we could win. Did Munchak fumble that ball? I see a team that was in position to knock off the Colts that night.. a team that knocked off Denver. This is where the bad luck comes in.. Munch knows we have a returner issue, and every guy he tires screws up. You're blaming him for fielding Wiggles? Who else should have returned? How do you know that player wouldn't have fumbled?

Munch has put this team in position to be 9-1. His players have screwed it up with fumbles, penalties, drops, dumb mistakes, to fall us to 4-6. I'd be pissed as Hell if I was Munch.. he is doing his job, and his players will end up killing him.

Typical fan ignorance, thinking you know more about Mariani's injury than the coaches and doctors who work for the team. You're in to position to criticize that decision. None of us are. I'll trust the professionals.

Maybe we're just coming across different posts because most of the ones I've read have explicitly blamed Munch without acknowledging the mistakes being made on the field and some even imply that under different coaching those mistakes wouldn't be made. I've agreed that so far he hasn't really distinguished himself as "the guy" and while that doesn't necessarily mean he never will after 3+ seasons it seems unlikely, much like Jake Locker actually.

I've addressed all of these points in a previous post.People won't address them because they don't fit their narrative that this is all on Munch. These are clear execution errors made by players.Coaching has zero to do with that.
