What exactly did Fokou do to help the defense again? He was on the field for basically 99% of the defensive snaps and didn't make a single impact play. Zero sacks. Zero forced fumbles. Zero fumble recoveries. Zero interceptions. For a guy who played so many snaps he did jack ****.

Ayers was just reminding everyone that he still plays for us.

The entire LB group has dropped off, IMO.

MLB's are called the QB's of the defense for a reason. Not trying to be a dick in any way but it seems as if you are missing what I am saying.

No, I get what you're saying, I just disagree with it. McCarthy has been in this defense longer, has been the starter before and has made the calls before. It's not like this is foreign territory.

In McCarthy's first year this defense was ranked 8th in points and 18th in yards. I guess McCarthy has just totally forgotten how to adjust the defense since then.

McCarthy's was best in his first two seasons and has dropped off since then. He gambles and when he nails it, he really nails it and leaves an impression. However he also blows it just as many times. I have seen him time and time again run straight past the guy trying to guess, or get tangled up where he should not be tangled up.

As far as impact players, McCarthy will win most of the time imo. As far as overall cohesiveness and effectiveness, Fokou had this line and LB's playing better by the calls he made which is why we had "Williams defense" the first half of the season, and "Grays defense" the second half of the season.

McCarthy just isnt nearly as good at making the calls, whereas Fokou isnt nearly as quick as McCarthy. However Fokous had Brown and Ayers having people scream how amazing our LB's are the first half of the year, and McCarthy has us wondering what happened to Ayers and Brown.

Perfect world? McCarthy with Fokous brains and experience.

Were just going to disagree on this. However what else would you blame the results on the field on? Williams/Gray forgetting who to do what they did effectively?

I blame it on this defense just not being very good to be honest. This is what happens when you need to blitz constantly to apply pressure. Offenses adjust, keep more guys in to protect or throw short passes. That's what's been killing us. There were two screen passes that went for the 10+ yards last night that resulted in first downs. The Jags killed us with slants all day long.

And let's be honest, we weren't exactly playing world beating offenses the first two months of the season. The Steelers, Texans(with Schaub), Chiefs, Jets(rookie QB), and Seahawks are average offensive teams.

We made our money the first six weeks of the season by creating turnovers(mostly Verner playing out of his mind). When the turnovers don't happen the lack of talent gets exposed.

Munch really is in over his head, he has no clue about whats going on around him.

I really thought he'd figured it out this year. the things he said to the media sounded really good. Clearly he was full of it.
