Yes but also the players are professionals so they can't blame that on the coach.

What more motivation does a player need to perform well besides thinking about the next contract or bonus? If a player isn't a total idiot, then they realize the potential earnings from endorsements that a championship would provide as well.

playing in the NFL is a privilege that most people do not get to experience in their life. If they cannot be motivated to play then they need to get out!!!!!!!!!!! SPEAKING TO YOU KENNY BRITT YOU BUMMMM

Yes, it is the coaches responsibility, it is also the players to play hard each and every week. I am bored of the coach speak "we'll get to work and fix the problems", and to the players, you only play 16 games a year, you being "UP" for a game should never come into it. If it does then we have the wrong type of players....perhaps we do and since this has been happening for 16 years maybe we always have had the wrong type of players. Anyone think britt gives a ****? How about michelle griffin?

yea. pollard has great quotes but he cant motivate our team! its on the leaders. anyone ever play football?????? who got you pumped up? listening to your coach or listening to your peer, a team leader. id always get way more pumped from a team leader. when you see commercials about pump up speeches or whatever whos always in the middle of the team circle??? a player not a coach

coaches prepare you for the gameplan. your leaders should get you jacked up and ready to play if you need that. in my opinion its really up to yourself. if you cant get yourself pumped up to go play hard as hell and whoop someones ass you don't belong on my team

The Head Coach is responsible to make certain the team is performing optimally and successfully. It is the Head Coaches responsibility to insure that any factors (elements, persons, etc) at fault causing the team not to perform optimally are corrected, removed and/or replaced. "Blame" is irrelevant. It is ultimately Munchak's responsibility.

Hell yes Munchak is responsible to field a motivated team. If the players aren't doing their part, it is HIS responsibility to bench their azz, cut them, etc to get motivated players on the field.

This is simple precept of management. It is why Munchak is given authority to declare starters, actives, game-planning etc. He has the tools to correct the faults.

IMO- he takes WAY too long to take action required to correct faults. He values loyalty over accountability. There is a series of decisions he's made during his tenure as HC that supports that argument.

How many of you were motivated each and every day of school? Or even half the time? How many of you are motivated each and every day of your job? Likely, very, very few, if any. The players probably thought that they wouldn't have to work hard to beat the Jags, and so started off with little motivation. And that included the QB. Then, when things went south in a hurry, all of a sudden, no one knows what to do. I give Fitz credit for the job he did bringing us back to within striking distance. Onward and upward with Fitz! Really, can it get much worse?

It is Munchak's responsibility to provide proper leadership on the team. He is a manager. So while players do need to be motivated himself he still has some responsibility. If, for some reason, the team is not motivated then he cannot just throw his hand's up and say "Well **** it. These guys are professionals they should be motivated themselves." He needs to find out why they are not motivated and make corrections necessary.

If there are players that are dragging the team down then they need to be dealt with. Looking in from the outside I can think of a few things that would be demotivating if I was a Titans player right now:
    1. Kenny Britt is having the worst year of his career and is clearly not trying. He also acted like a child on Twitter. If players see him continue to get playing time then it would be demotivating to them
    2. :cj: has been treated with kid gloves the past two and a half years. The year of the lockout he held out, got a huge contract and showed up out of proper shape when the season started. Right now I am not sure if he is giving 100%. If a guy makes the kind of money :cj: makes and is acting the way he does it will be very demotivating for his teammates
    3. The offensive scheme does not seem to make sense. Particularly the play calling. If players feel the same way some people here do with respect to the offensive play calling then it is a problem. Hard for guys to be motivated if they know what they are doing is not working

^ Point 3 is a really good point.

Doesn't matter if you are motivated worker, if you don't believe in the philosophy and the way the business runs you won't stay motivated. Particularly when the results aren't there.

It is Munchak's job to motivate the players, but not in the way that many guys are saying.

Like any manager, it is his job to put his people in a position to succeed.

At the end of the day it is Munchak who will be held most responsible for wins and losses. So anything that can affect wins and losses are his problem.
