To why you don't draft QB's and let them sit anymore. When you draft a franchise QB you start him from day 1 so you can determine if he is going to be your guy or not. The days of letting your QB sit and groom for 3 years is over. There are too many good QB's coming out now and it is ridiculous to delay your judgement on a guy. When you do, you wind up like us and still don't know what you got.

Ok but who "groomed" Locker for 3 years? He had his 1 year to take it all in, and has gotten better ever since. He's just not build for diving head first into LB's. That doesn't mean he's not a capable QB.

I agree for the most part but at the same time qb's are a crapshoot and we missed. If locker wasn't hurt and he was playing like he did those few games in the beginning of the year it would be a different story

3 years was just a number. We still tried the grooming process and look how bad it has cost us now.

I was expecting a stupid point, since you make many silly threads. but you have a good point.

Everybody uses Rodgers as the model for this.. but that's the thing.. he's one of the very few good QBs that didn't get thrown to the wolves relatively early.

I pretty much agree. If you're going to use a high 1st round pick on a guy then I think you should throw him in there right away. The only time I'm in favor of sitting is if you already have an established vet who is still playing at a very high level (e.g. Favre/Rodgers). But most of the time teams who have that don't spend 1st round picks on QB anyway.

Matt Hasselbeck beat him out in the 2011 camp. So youre wrong about Jake Locker fitting into your theory.

Locker sat for one year guys.. not like he sat for two or three. More often then not it will be an advantage to let them sit for a while. Rodgers and McNair did that. You guys can't expect every QB to come in and be like Russel Wilson and RG3 and immediately play at a high level. Those players are rare. None of the rookies this year are doing all that well. None of them besides Cam did well in 2011. None did well in 2010. None did well in 2009 except maybe Stafford. Ect ect.

The worst part of the situation is now we are in LIMBO. We have no direction AGAIN and that is what gets me angry!!!!
