That defense is built to apply pressure after a big lead. Remember the Colts when Peyton had them firing on all cylinders and they would jump out to a lead so you would have to abandon the run and pass to get back into the game. They were able to unleash Freeney and Mathis because you had no choice but to throw the ball. Seattle (on defense) is built the same way.

The problem is they don't have Peyton running the offense, so if you can slow down Lynch and contain Wilson you will have a shot against them.

This is why we stayed in the game against them with Fitz at quarterback. We ALMOST ran our scheme to perfection.

    QB - C
Fitzy is keeping this from being a B

    RB - D
:cj: has been pretty bad for most of the season. Same with the rest

    WR/TE - B
Based on talent I would expect an A here. Britt really holds them back.

    OL - D
Again, have to take a serious look at Bruce Mathews as OL coach. Something is really wrong here. Too much talent to be this bad.

    DE - D
Nothing good here. Morgan is okay and so is Pito. But nothing special. Wimbly is so bad that a 5th round rookie is playing more than he is.

    DT - B
Making up for iffy DEs. Casey could be more consistent against the run. He is still making plays in the run game though. Johnson has been a nice pickup.

    LB - C
MLB has been okay. OLB was supposed to be a lot better. Maybe replacing Frank Bush was a mistake?

    S - A
What was the teams biggest weakness last year has been a strength. Griff is back to being a strong player. And love the addition of Wilson and Pollard.

    CB - B
Verner has been excellent though I fear we are seeing him at his best and this level of play will probably not continue. McCourty is about what you expect. Sensabaugh is coming on nicely.

    Special Teams - C

Putter is solid. Kicker is decent. Coverage game is strong and return game is useless.

    Coaches/Coordinators - C
Really a mixed bag here. Again, Matthews has some explaining to do in the off season when it comes to the bad OL play. As does Much. This has to be embarrassing for two HoF linemen. OC looks in over his head. AHC Greg Williams and DC Jerry Brown deserve credit for cobbling together a solid secondary. Putting players in position to do what they do best. The altered role for Griff is working wonders. I also think DL coach Tracy Rocker deserves credit for some solid DL play.

I was thinking the same thing. Mooney has been solid, and an upgrade over Quinn Johnson in my opinion.

Decent screen option as well. Defenders were bouncing off him.

I still think grey gets to call certain plays and is still making decisions on defensive schemes. The last two games both reeked of his soft ass defense

I think overall, the Defense you have to give a "B". We are 9th in points allowed, 11th in yards allowed, 7th in pass yards allowed and 26th in rushing yards allowed. Overall for offense is not as good. 20th in points, 24th in yards, 24th pass yards and 15th in rushing yards. Overall to the offense I say a "C." We are also ranked 15th in the power rankings...Jags dead last lol.

FYI: Colin Mooney is rated the 2nd best blocking fullback via PFF. Dude is legit.
