Rams tight end Jared Cook is among a number of former Titans who will square off against his old teammates on Sunday.

But Cook shouldn’t expect his old buddies to take it easy on him.

“Obviously he played here, and he has some bitter feelings about the Titans and what they did to him I guess,’’ Titans middle linebacker Colin McCarthy said of Cook. “But at the end of the day, it is our job to stop him … and if he comes across the middle guys will put shots on him.”

Cook, who played from 2009-12 with the Titans, has 29 catches for 375 yards and two touchdowns with the Rams after signing a five-year, $35 million deal this offseason.

“I think he is going to come ready to play, he is going to come hungry – that is expected,’’ McCarthy said. “But beyond Jared Cook and the previous players from here than play there, this is a game we need to win.”

Cook is one of four former Titans with the Rams – cornerback Cortland Finnegan, defensive end William Hayes and linebacker Will Witherspoon are the others.

The Titans have 16 players currently on their roster who played for former Titans coach Jeff Fisher, who’s in his second year with the Rams.

Titans safety Bernard Pollard said no one needs to take sentimental feelings into the game.

“They better check that at the door,’’ said Pollard, “because we have a game to go win.”

Careful Colin you hitting Cook over the middle would be like throwing a water balloon through a glass window.

Fair enough. Play Pollard in the box and let him handle it.
