He's the lead back in that he'll get the start and step onto the field first, but I promise you unless he rips off a few good runs to start the game, the coaches will put in Greene and see if he can do better (he will). He will consistently get 3-4 yards per carry, and that is exactly what we need.

As soon as Munch realizes that Shonn Greene can set up plenty of 3rd and shorts, he'll basically become the starter... and CJ will be used in dual back formations to keep defenses on their heels. Seriously with CJ and Greene in the backfield and the ability for Locker to run, defenses will have no clue what to expect, if we run it right - which is asking a lot, I realize.

 

Would love that, but if Greene's production on the Jet's last year was indication there won't be gains like that everytime. Hell of a 3rd and 1 converter though! Is CJ springing that 11 yarder or is that Greene?!

 

Ugh. RB in the draft next year please.

 

I wouldn't read too much into Munchak's comment. As pointed out already this would be the case in an ideal situation. Similar to the way we pounded the rock at Pittsburgh where we ran ran and ran some more.

I'm all for running the ball well regardless of who is toting the rock. I really hope the OL gets it together so that we at least have a chance.
