He is definitely more effective in goal line situations then Battle has shown!

The only way to truly evaluate whether CJ is doing a good job or not is for someone to painstakingly look at every single snap he's taken this year and see if he could have done more with what he was given. For example we call a run designed to go off-tackle on 1st and 10. CJ gets the hand off but both Stevens and Stewart miss their block and CJ gets brought down for a loss of 1. Clearly that play is not on CJ. Until I see a detailed analysis of CJ's snaps that accounts for the blocking and play calling I refuse to say that it's his fault the running game is struggling. I remember MilwaukeeTitan and JCBrave were doing something similar with Locker so It would be awesome if they could do it for CJ. I'd do it myself but Sunday ticket is totally ghey and won't let me watch past games.

My only beefs with CJ is his refusal to bounce it outside and his indecision. I get that backs become indicisive when they don't trust their O-line to open up the hole but at some point you gotta just say F it and run as hard you can to where the hole is supposed to be. That or find a cutback lane ASAP.

My thoughts exactly.. I hold my breath every time Fitz just chucks it up there, and hope that the ball falls harmlessly to the turf. I trust Locker throwing it deep much more.

The only qb I ever trusted throwing deep with this franchise was Mac9. He could launch the ball and be accurate. I have yet to trust another Titans qb on the deep ball.

Volek was good deep too in his limited time playing.

From what I've seen so far, most is on the stacked boxes. There has been opportunities for him to do more when he gets to the 2nd level, but all the short and negative runs are definitely not on CJ. I think his reluctance to bounce is that he wants every yard he can get and it's riskier for him to bounce. I've seen 2 runs this year where he probably could have taken it to the house if he went outside, but his head never turned to look. Both games he was getting bottled up the whole game and wanted the guaranteed yards. Just my observations.

    A few observations:

Niners rarely play more than 7 defenders in the box. If they are bringing pressure they'll cram the LOS to try to disguise what's coming but usually they trust the front 7 to stop the run game and also provide pressure on the QB. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

They're also preparing for Locker as much as for Fitzpatrick. Of course they still have to go out there and play the game so it might not mean anything.. But I don't think they'll be too surprised if Locker plays. Harbaugh has tremendous respect for Locker and expects that if he's cleared he'll be fighting to play.
