I know its always hard to accept a loss, especially after you probably should have won. But if after losing to a 6-0 & 5-1 team you think change is coming, you may want to read this.

The spread last week vs Kansas City was 3-points in their favor, and this week vs Seattle was 13.5 points in the Seahawks favor, to most people around football we were suppose to lose these last 2 games.

After starting 3-1 and falling to 3-3 (.500) Titan fans seem to be in an all too familiar place, and seem to want the coaches gone, the back-up QB gone, the $10M RB gone, and the Center gone, and while those are the obvious issues, making a change wont fix much, in fact, it could set us back. At 3-3 in October you don't fire anyone.

The plan is and always has been to feature a bigger RB to spell Chris Johnson, and until last week that was a good plan, but since then things have changed. Jackie Battle is showing his true colors (sorry scarecrow) and our back-up QB is showing why he's a back-up QB. If you were counting on these 2 guys to carry us, well IDK what to tell you, but keep reading.

Next week we're back home at LP Field to host a 4-2 Niners team who are currently on a 2-game winning streak, and we dont want to do them any favors by changing our personnel. If you think Brian Schwenke is ready to start a game vs Justin Smith and Glenn Dorsey then you're mistaken, the rookie will get killed vs those guys. Rob Turner may have looked bad in Seattle, but who doesn't? He was facing a combined weight of 616lbs inside between McDaniel & Mebane, no one goes into Seattle and tosses those 2 around.

We have to stay the course and believe in this group. We're expecting Shonn Greene back, and we've benched under performing Kenny Britt, so we are getting better in some funky kind of way. Jake Locker is still about 2-weeks away from returning, and to most fans we're lucky to even be 3-3 going into week-7. You dont change whats not broken, and maybe the O-Line is struggling, but look who theyre playing... Thru 6 games here's the defensive rankings of our opponents: PIT-6th, HOU-1st, SD-28th, NYJ-4th, KC-5th, SEA-2nd. It makes sense to believe that another week together will help smooth things out. After the bye week in 2 weeks we come back to football to face the Rams-22nd D, and the Jaguars-21st D, then the Colts-who's defesne still has to play tonight to know where they rank.

Things will get better guys, trust me.

I agree that there is no reason for overreaction at this point. And we will probably be 3-4 after next week too.

But there are changes that need to be made NOW. Get Britt off the team. Figure out if Shonn Greene is just here to be injured and collect a check with no state income tax, if so then sign a free agent RB and play him, cause CJ needs his role reduced. Bench Turner and try out the rookie. Put David Stewart on "notice". Unfortunately we didn't go for Freeman but I think it's time to find some competition for the backup job.

We aren't going to win much if the offense continues to play this poorly.

I was about to make a thread earlier about how the team has looked really good but this thread will def do the job. I find it funny I was one of the few fans to have picked us to have a great season and now everybody is shocked we're not tops in the league.

We've played the best teams in the league so far and have competed against everyone. There's not a team we couldn't beat that we've played and our offense should only get better when Locker returns. We held Seattle and check and had a shot to win the game. We held the Chiefs in check despite giving up 10 points and playing with a new backup QB.

We're still in position to make it to playoffs. We're doing ok. Like every fan I wish we wouldn't have dropped as many, but we haven't been outclassed yet and the schedule eases up quite a bit after the bye.

Looking forward to the rest of the season. If we could get away with a win this Sunday it would be huge.

This coaching staff really doesn't have the luxury to sit on their thumbs and just let things play out in the hope it gets better but the Titans were 3-1 with Locker at QB.

Going into the season, I think we'd all been happy with 3-3 right now.

Britt will likely still get some playing time when needed but I don't see him having much of a role. Steward hopefully heals up after the bye. I don't think the Titans will see much success bringing in another RB at this point so Greene is desperately needed.

The only big "question" is whether or not it's time to make the move to Schwenke which, IMO, would happen after the Niners game so he had a couple of weeks to prepare before the next game.

The fact that Chance Warmack is a rookie really hurts Schwenke's changes of playing this week. I mean if our RG isn't a rookie, we probably make the switch to the "top graded center in the draft" right?

Chris Spencer can't be that much worse than Turner, can he?

Thanks for being the voice of reason JC, it's been getting menstrual up in here with all the neg-headed debbie downers.

I agree that it is too late to change anything up for this SF game. If we were gonna put Schwenke in we should have done it sooner. Throwing him in against that 9er D is not smart although I'm not against getting him ready for the STL game with the bye to prepare for it.

#4 has got to simplify his role and stick to running when he can and not forcing the ball into bad spots. I honestly had no idea that the guy was as bad as he is. Hopefully Jake will be ready to go for the STL game. All we need is #4 to not lose the SF game. I honestly believe that if we were to let CJ run the ball 25-30 times we can count on him to produce. 10-15 carries just isn't enough.

Agree with everything you said here.

Despite sitting at .500, I'm feeling really really good about the fact that we've competed right up until the end in each and every game. And against top teams to boot. A few plays here and there, and we could potentially be sitting at 6-0 right now.

I think a lot of fans are forgetting JUST how bad we were last year. The defensive turnaround has been damn near miraculous. The sky is not falling. We're headed in the right direction. Sucks Locker got hurt but what can ya do? It's the NFL.
