Im starting to lose my joy of fantasy football. I think here's why.

I'm a commissioner of one league, do full writeups, got the trophy the whole nine yards every week, now every person and their mother talks about fantasy football. I'm in a casual league with some friends and week one I go over to their house and listen to 5 or 6 guys and girls talk about their teams, stare at their phones literally EVERY PLAY. Just act like you've been here before.

Then the straw that broke my back is this commishioner in the casual league has taken of this girl not once but TWICE in trades trading her absolute scrubs for studs and no one pays enough attention to veto it. Personally for me I think it violates the ethnic principles I would hold a guy whose a fantasy football veteran too. So I'm debating on playing it out for two more weeks and then trading my two best players to a guy who doesn't cause any issues in the league just to piss everyone off.

(Vent over) Just for some reason this year fantasy has felt more like a chore than fun for some odd reason. Maybe its playing for money or maybe it compounds my anger when the titans lose and my squads aren't good.

A similar situation happened to me my first year playing. I beat the guy in the playoffs, so IDGAF.

But that is why I started the thread here. Everyone is active, no one, to my knowledge, is checking it every minute. But we are all football fans first, and that is the way I like it.

I have had more fun this year with people I don't know, than I ever have.

People overreact to fantasy football like their lived depend on it. People actually lost their job or so I herd because they spent work time on their computer making moves in a fantasy football league. I play in 2 leagues just for fun but the fun is starting to wear off at this point. Next year I don't know if I will play anymore and I will just watch the games other than the titans for fun, it's a lot more relaxing than worrying about my guy getting touches or catches or td's.

I think I posted this earlier in the thread but I am not sure so I will post it again. I was watching the news earlier in the week and this is the first I herd of this. There is actually insurance on fantasy football players! People that play in money leagues can purchase insurance that if one of their star players gets injured and is out for more than 9 weeks, their money is covered by the insurance. I guess it can work but it goes to show you that this fantasy sport has gone to the extreme IMHO

I'm confused. Which league should I be playing Thompkins? And I can't play both Thompkins and Brown.

Lol I thought each of those were different leagues. Whatever the last one is, the others are in the actual quote.

I've been in similar situations before. The simple solution? Just don't play in "casual" leagues anymore. I don't. If it's not someone getting fleeced in absurd trades, it's someone leaving injured players or players on a bye in their lineup and giving their opponent an easy win. The latter pisses me off even more than the former. If you can't put aside 30 seconds per week to set your lineup then just don't be in the damn league.

I've been commish of a live-draft league with a bunch of friends for 8 years now. For the most part, everyone is really committed to their team and the league. But I have had to kick two people out of the league for abandoning their teams and/or participating in shady dealings. It was a consensus decision with the rest of the league though. I didn't just kick them out all dictator style.

The league is highly competitive and the live draft is a blast, so it's hands down my favorite league... even though I'm 0-5 right now. If a league's not competitive then what's the point? Sure you have an easier road to a trophy but it's just no fun IMO.

I have a question for everyone not named RavensShallBurn,

Who's the TE to add, its between Charles Clay from Miami, or Delanie Walker from Tennessee. I have Jared Cook but his bye is coming up and Julio Jones is worthless to me so who would people pick of those 2 TE's?
