    I also think the question should be asked...if the shoe were on the other foot. If Fitzpatrick had been running toward the sideline and a Chiefs defender hit him exactly the same scenario would Titans fans be screaming at the refs to throw a flag? Damn straight they would. Sports fans are some of the biggest hypocrites in the world. Every questionable call that goes against our team is a "bad" call. Every questionable call that favors our team is a "good" call. What is more subjective than that?

    Here is the rule on Unnecessary Roughness:

    (b) contacting a runner out of bounds;
    Note: Defensive players must make an effort to avoid contact. Players on defense are responsible for knowing when a runner has crossed the boundary line, except in doubtful cases where he might step on a boundary line and continue parallel with it.

    I've watched the play multiples times as well and Fokou made contact with Smith while he was in-bounds. This "you have to allow the runner to get out-of-bounds" has nothing to do with the rule book. How can a defender know the intent of a ball carrier? Smith could have stepped out much sooner if his intent wasn't to get the first down.

    Oh, and at the bottom of the Unnecessary Roughness section:

    Note: If in doubt about a roughness call or potentially dangerous tactics, the covering official(s) should always call unnecessary roughness.

    What the hell? When in doubt, make the call? This is borderline insanity. This is the kind of stuff that will ruin the game.

    The analysts calling the game didn't even agree with the call.

    Kind of hypocritical of you to say I'm the one being biased here by the way. Laughable really.
