We are at the quarter season point. The point which we should have a good idea how the team will look for the season. Before even the pre-season I bet my bosses boss (Jags Fan) that the Titans would double their 2012 win total before the Jags would. So far I am closer. And I still think the Titans will get to 12 wins before the Jags get to 4.

Thank you to ESPN for the stats

Positives/reasons to be optimistic for the year:
    • Locker has been good. Even TWW2 has conceded that Locker has looked good
    • Nate Washington (Rumored to be trade bait early in the offseason) appears on track for a career year. Maybe the team could consider a slight contract extension
    • Jurrell Casey and Zach Brown are establishing themselves as pro-bowl caliber players
    • Bernard Pollard has been everything we needed
    • Ropati Pitoitua, who came to the team with little notice, has been a beast for the Titans so far this year. Excellent pickup by the FO
    • ATV, who had to fight for a starting job, has 4 INTs already
    • Our only loss came to a strong team in a close game on the road
    • Rookie Justin Hunter is showing he can score
    • We are in first place (tied)
    • The new defense looks like the real deal
    Negatives/Reasons to be pessimistic:
    • Locker injury could be career altering
    • :cj: is not living up to his salary
    • We have not beaten a strong team yet
    • Kenny Britt has been useless
    • The Colts look like they could be for real this year :(
    • Wimbly not producing despite his high salary (Thanks Aqua)

    Negative:

Kam Wimbley eating up a lot of cap space playing the new "center bench position"

I'd have to say I am completely surprised by the improvement of the defense.

I have been disappointed in the play of the OL based on the level of talent so far.

Given all the resources that were pumped into the OL it should be much better. As much as I love the guy I do have to say maybe Bruce Matthews is not cut out to be an NFL OL coach.

Just want to point out that amongst the QBs taken in the 2010 draft, Jake Locker had been doing the best through the first quarter. And that's with him playing the Stoolers in Pissburgh and the Cows in Houston.

I was definatly in the 'prove it too me' club as far as the D goes. I am on board at this point.

And I expect the OL too improve greatly as the season goes on. Not so much talent as not making gaffs like in stoolsburgH and Cowton

Why is a good defense a negative?
