Talk about when good players go bad. There are countless players out there that dream of being where Hillis once was and just dont have the ability to get there. All this dude had to do was just control himself and he couldnt do that. He may not know it now, but one of these days he will look back at the opportunity he wasted and feel ashamed.

I don't recall a player falling so deep and quick like him.

He is the Gilbert Arenas of the NFL.

Imo, he just fits in a certain offense that uses a rb to get short yardage. He costs way to much to do that and looks like hes not a team player.

Plus Hillis is missing an extra bone in his ankle.

I'd take Shonn Greene and Jackie Battle over PH any day of the week.

After Hillis became successful at Cleveland.. his head got too big. He started missing team meetings, practices, etc.. and became a locker room menace. He just didn't have the discipline to keep his act together to capitalize on his initial success.

If he had the mental capacity to know to keep his sights set on perpetual improvement, keep his nose to the grindstone, and stay humble.. he could already have been established as the long term back field solution for some team by now.

Here is an old article that talks about some of Peyton's problems:
