We've only seen 2 Loggains game-plans, thats too few to judge him.

fair point, but if he doesn't change this game plan/scheme and I don't think he will because this team is focused on the run first, pass second he may find himself changing teams! I don't hate the guy, but it's frustrating that we don't make any adjustments, this week against a weak d, it will be a good time to see if we make any game changing plans!

You know part of that is because of Munchak right? He wants to be a running team so our ratio is something like 70%-30% (run-pass) and it makes Loggains pick more run plays. Whatever the HC wants, he gets. I like the pass plays Loggains drew up and I wish we could open it more. Hopefully we do real soon.

Yes I agree, and yes I know it's Munch and sometimes I wish the O coordinator could stand up to him and say C'MON Man... we need more passes! 70-30 (run to pass) its not gonna cut it.

Loggains conservative play-calling reflects a few things.

First, we are in game 2 of the season. The risk-reward of injury associated with rolling Locker out of the pocket or utilizing the read option isn't at a ratio that is the most beneficial to us. Hard to argue with the conservative nature of the play-calling at this point in the season because we are 1-1 and as others have mentioned we'd have won against the Texans if Locker had executed that slant pass. We might survive to the playoffs if Locker were to get injured, but it is too risky to chance a necessary shift of the O to Fitz.

Second, as another pointed out, we were up against Dick LeBeaux and a Wade Phillips defenses. Those D's have talented personnel and play physical. And we (Locker et al) didn't create any turnovers.

I suspect we will see more read option and roll-outs this week and even more in upcoming weeks as Jake gains more confidence. I'm certain if/when we get to critical "must win" games to make the play-offs, we'll play-calling that will allow Jake to use his legs more.

We're throwing the ball 40% of the time, which is about opposite of what most teams are doing lol

Lol, well if we can at least be 50-50 I'll be happy. After 2 games of film, teams see us as a running team. A predictable running team as well. I've always liked to run the ball out the spread formation, typically you get more DBs on the field than LBs. I'm not saying this should be the base offense but putting this formation in our run game could help not being so damn predictable when we run.

I just hope we come out passing a bit more against Chargers because their DBs are crap besides Weddle.

Jake was dancing in the pocket the entire game against Pittsburgh. It discouraged me quite a bit. I had been giving Jake the benefit of the doubt up to that point (young, injuries, bad offensive line, no run game, always behind, etc.) but now I'm more concerned that it's just not going to work with Jake. I see all these young guys around the league that do well at QB and begin to wonder if it's going to click here in TN.

We need to open it up a bit and see if Jake can be the guy or not. What I dont want is like VY's last year here, where he has a 98 QB rating and we are still left arguing on whether he could have been the guy or not.

In the NFL, you have to be able to throw the ball. We need to find out THIS year whether he can do that consistently or not, and we need to find out this year.

Well he's going into his 3rd game with no picks. I'd say that's better for his confidence than more passing yards and a few turnovers.

I'd say its good we limited his opportunities thus far.
