Ok, so I kinda already know what most you homers are gonna say about this trade, but I still want to hear opinions. I have an offer presented to me in a league where I can trade:

Reggie Bush & Jordy Nelson for CJ & Kenbrell Thompkins

Would you do this? It's a .5 PPR league

    I'd prefer Reggie & Jordy.

Kenbrell is a huge risk, being as he's a nobody living off pre-season hype. Obviously I think CJ will have a rebirth year, we all could be homers for thinking that -- but everything points to he should. Reggie will be catching the ball in the backfield a ton, in a PPR league that's huge for Reggie. Jordy will get his looks if he can stay healthy.

That's where I am now which is why I haven't pulled the trigger on this trade. I want CJ in one of my leagues but not at this high a price unless I get a good argument.

Thompkins is now WR2 with Brady throwing to him, but still a rookie and unknown.

I should add I also have Rodgers which is great paired with Nelson

I'd stay with what you got. Don't be a Titans homer & trade way too much just to have CJ.

I agree. I hope Bush plays well and the guy will just trade him straight up for CJ in the next weeks

Good chance of that. I was lucky enough for CJ2K to fall to me in the 2nd (of a 12 man league)... got offered this:

Big Ben, Trent Richardson, Larry Fitz for Cam, CJ2K, and Anquan Boldin.

I said no. I don't want to trade CJ2K. Although I think Fitz will have a bounce back year and Trent will have a solid year, I see Cam as a Top-3 fantasy QB and CJ2K is set for a rebirth.

***Update*** ok, I spoke with the guy and may have worked out another trade:

Reggie Bush & Reggie Wayne for CJ & Torrey Smith

CJ and Smith is a good combo to have

I wouldn't criticize you either way. I think it's a pretty fair trade offer (which can be rare in the fantasy football world). And I think there's plenty of legitimate reasons to expect CJ to have a resurgence this year. It's not as if its just blind homerism to think so.

I honestly expect CJ to finish with much better numbers than Bush. Lions are one of the most pass-happy teams in the league while we're going to rely on the run game to be a very large part of our offense. So when it comes to RB comparison, I'd take CJ over Bush all day.

On to the receivers, Jordy is definitely the proven commodity. And if you have Rodgers as well, then you're going to reap the benefits of the double points. Of course the downside is if they have a bad day you're screwed at two positions. But how often does that really happen with this offense? Thompkins is pretty much an unknown but he has one of the best QBs to ever play the game throwing to him. And you know they're going to throw it a ton. So while you don't really know exactly what you're going to get with him, his ceiling is sky high IMO.

Really all comes down to how bad do you want CJ. You'd definitely be taking the riskier end of the deal. But that doesn't necessarily mean it's the wrong move. Fantasy's pretty much a crapshoot anyway. Go with your gut.
