Bernard Pollard's late hit

Stupid penalty. The dude was in bounds, wasn't helmet to helmet, led with his shoulder, & wasn't "defenseless".. what are defenders suppose to do? Allow them to make the catch the two hand touch him?

I think it was intentional. Or semi so at least. He was wanting to set the tone for his defense. Let em know, screw that flag. We gonna hit... And hit and hit.

 

We're lucky our RB's coach didn't get his leg broken cause of this play.

Agreed, the lines weren't marked as bright as usual. Plus the guy still had a foot inbounds.

Looks fine to me.

 

I agree with the flag, I thought it was a late hit. One foot was already out of bounds and it was pretty obvious that's where he was going. Probably should've just given him a shove to be sure of it ... in preseason I don't care, but I probably would in a real game.

I think Pollard has just been itching to hit someone and thats why he did it. haha

 

Did he just catch the pass? If so what do you want pollard to do? Let him catch it and just strut out of bounds? No thanks Jeff.

 

Flag was appropriate. I am not a fan of 15 yard flags, but Im also not a fan of giving up 30 points a game. Ill take the tradeoff right now if it doesnt cost us games. We need the WR's and TE's to be scared of SOMETHING, even if its a late hit.

 

Might as well set the example now in a meaningless game.
