The Titans are expecting much better offensive line blocking up front due to new personnel, but offensive coordinator Dowell Loggains said Friday that he’s also been impressed with the blocking of the team’s wide receivers.

He credited new wide receivers coach Shawn Jefferson for the work he’s done with the group.

“Shawn Jefferson has done a great job with the receivers,” Loggains said. “This group of receivers practices harder than any group I’ve been around in eight years with the run-blocking.

“You see Shawn running down the field making sure that they’re making what he calls touchdown blocks, those last blocks that can spring a guy free. I think (Chris Johnson) sees that.”

I think it takes an offense that basically refuses to rely on their qb to produce a 2000 yard runner. I think locker will be above average this season. CJ will still get his touches, knocking off a few long runs. But 2000 is unattainable because we spread the ball to our play making WRs this season as well... I mean... There's one ball... And we've got like 5 players all worth touching the ball on any given play.

Hmm yeah I think that could be one option on offense where we spread the ball around but I still think we maintain that ground and pound attitude. Should be pretty easy for us to get to 2K rushing yards as a team. Yeah we have a lot of receiving weapons this year but Locker isn't going to be the kind of guy where we open up the passing game all the time. I'm expecting a better defense with an offense that's about pounding the ball and killing the clock. With our revamped OL, a better run blocking TE, and the addition of a very good #2 RB we'll probably see this more than us trying to spread the ball.
