He's also on the cusp of officially being a bust.

    ... if he's not already.

God, I hate how much people severly underrated Morgan and overrate the sack stat. There's more to a DE than tackling the QB 10 times a year. Sure, i'd love for him to be in double digits sacks... but Morgan is one of the best run stopping DEs in the league. PFF has proved it time and time again.

Yes, but can we get sacks?

    Lol

We just need more game changing plays from the defense.

I cannot H5 this post enough. Morgan was never going to be a major sack master. He is more of an all around DE who will get sacks but can also stand in against the run hard. More of a Kevin Carter type.

There's no doubt we need game changers.

I can't remember the exact stat, but Morgan had like the 3rd highest pass rushing efficency the 2nd half of the year. Basically a stat PFF made that combines hurries, QB hits, sacks, etc etc.

Hurries: almost sacks but not quite

QB hit: almost a sack but not quite

    Sacks: doesn't get them

I agree, Morgan is the best at not quite getting sacks. That's surefire HOF material there.

Yes, I know hurries can impact a game.. but I think a high pick justifies getting a player who can finish the pass rush. Other good DEs can, why not him?

U gotta use creative stats to make him look like a star DE. Just like "all purpose yards" for a RB like Reggie Bush.

It's like counting passes that were on target, but not caught. It might be nice to factor those in, but does not really count for anything in the real world.

There's absolutely no way anyone who tracks Morgan every play can say he's a bust. I watch him closely because he was my No.1 DE in 2010 and he has been a disappointment, but at little fault of his own.

You have to remember, he came back from an ACL injury, and had little to no help the last 2 years. He really broke out late last year once Ayers and Brown got that hang of blitzing.

If youre just looking to stir the pot, I get it, but dont be ignorant, Morgan is no bust. He was picked in the middle of the 1st round and plays for Jerry Gray, give me a break.

Morgan was NOT my guy that year. However I got behind the pick. My guy got lost in depth over in Philly. Whatevs. Ill be glad to say Im glad we didnt spend a high pick on a DE this draft. The position was SUPPOSED to be stacked but I hardly saw it. Good thing out FO did as well and went another direction.
