With many new additions and nearly half of the roster changing there is now opportunity to change the fortunes of this team the last few years from below average into a winner once again. There have been a few coaching changes too such as Sylvester Croom as running backs coach and Gregg Williams coming back to help the team get back to what we were in his first stint and thats a winning team. Both of these coaches have been and will be the reason for some of the changes coming.Croom let it be known he didn't think Chris Johnson could be an every down back and that he needed help so we brought in Shonn Greene to help. Then of course there is Williams who will try and bring back a killer instinct to a defense that has been missing in action the last few seasons.

Bernard Pollard will be one of the most vocal players on the defense and he will bring a tough presence that will make the defense much more physical.Pollard is also wanting to change the vibe on defense by letting it be known that he is there to punish the opposition and he wants everyone else on the defense to take the same approach.George Wilson was also brought in to help and take a leadership role at safety.Maybe all this will make Michael Griffin more physical player on the defense. Also changes coming to beef the line up with the addition of Sammie Lee Hill which should definitely help us have a better rushing defense.Ropati Pitoitua was brought in from Kansas City at defensive end.

In the draft he brought us Blidi Wreh Wilson at cornerback ,Lavar Edwards at defensive end,Zaviar Gooden at OLB,Khalid Wooten at corner back and one of my favorites who reminds me of another seventh rounder who panned out big for us a few years back Daimian Stafford who says he loves to lay wood and thats what we need is a really feisty, aggressive, physical safety and maybe he will learn some more about laying wood from one of the best at it Bernard Pollard.Maybe all these changes on defense will bring us back to being a top ten unit.

Andy Levitre was the most impressive player brought in because we needed to fill that spot on our line and we did it with the best lineman available in free agency. We then got Chance Warmack and Chris Schwenke in the draft two of the best lineman at their respective positions. We pretty much have turned our line into one of the best in the league. This is another huge turnaround from the year before when we had one of the worst lines.

This will help Jake Locker and Chris Johnson out immensely. We also brought in tight end Delanie Walker and Kevin Walter in free agency and Justin Hunter in the draft so there are also new targets for Locker. We brought in Shonn Greene to wear down defenses and get those short yardage gains on third down.It will also help keep C.J. more refreshed as the game goes along which will make him a very dangerous weapon once defenses get worn down by our powerful line and power back.Games are won in the trenches and we will be in much better shape now not only on our line but also with plenty of targets as help for Locker. There should be a turnaround overall on offense.

It looks to me just from some of the coaching changes along with free agency and a solid draft along with changing as much as half the roster that this team should be in much better shape as improvements were made all across the board.I do think this team will be a winner in 2013.

Any opinions on all the changes and if you think it will be enough to change things in 2013?

Same here they've done just about everything possible other than changing the QB so i'm definitely hoping Jake Locker proves all the doubters wrong.I've been reading where Locker is the first in the building every morning so i hope the dedication and preperation helps bring out his best.He didn't have much to work with in the past but this year its all been laid out perfectly for him to succeed. He now has one of the best lines in the league and some good targets now that we've drafted a WR with some of our best picks two years in a row plus brought in TE Delanie Walker.

This team, after everything that has been done, WILL have a winning record. I also believe it is a decent shot of making the playoffs.

Winning record, I have NO doubt.

My only doubt is the QB and defensive line!

We are going to surprise some people. It might sound crazy but I think we start 2-0 at least. We beat PITT last year with a very poor team and they've only gotten worse IMO. They lost Mendenhall, Harrison, and Wallace. If you look at the beginning of the Texans schedule we're their easiest game in the first 5 weeks, so they could easily overlook us.

    I'm saying 10-6 and a wildcard.

QB is one of the positions I have the least doubt in. Jake will do well not having to run for his life on every snap. Plus, we have improved his receivers. I think this UT kid will be the best receiver we have drafted in a long, long, long time. Plus, he has Kendall and Nate.

D line, ya, I can see your concern. But, we now have Pollard, brown, ayers, and mccarthy backing them up. Our biggest issue was runners making it to the second level then, Uh Oh, we didn't have shlt cept whiffin. We're much improved. Not the best, but much improved.

I'm hoping with the addition of Sammie Lee Hill that there will be some improvement on the line and we still haven't added a defensive end yet. With this Ingram injury i wonder if that will somehow indirectly affect us in some way because now Freeny might be in the mix to play there. I'm wondering how long this stalemate will go on with Abraham and his desire to play way more snaps than we are asking. The other end from Chicago Idonije i guess is also still someone we might bring in.I just hope they don't wait too long and then miss out on getting a pretty good end.
