My standard for hall of fame is average out their BEST 8 years of stats, then average out the remaining years of stats, then put those numbers next to guys that are in at same position. Then factor superbowls, were they revolutionary (don't have to be) and were they the best at their position, or even second best? Doing all this, I voted yes...but I think Charles Woodson will get in first

Well, even if you take his best 8 years his stats still aren't all that special. Out of 16 seasons he had:
One season with > 5 INTs.
One season with > 5 sacks.
One season with > 2 forced fumbles.

IDK I just don't see it.... at all. I think he's getting too much credit simply for having been around a long time. Sure he was 1/11th of a Super Bowl champion defense. But even taking that into consideration I think we're really diluting the Hall if we're putting guys like Ronde in there.

IMO if we're gonna put Ronde in then we might as well put Vinny Testaverde, Keenan McCardell, etc. in there too.

Barber is like Tampas version of our Bulluck good players but neither of them HOF worthy.

Let's be real... Longevity has a lot to do with the Hall of Fame.

If Adrian Peterson and Calvin Johnson stopped playing football right now, they wouldn't make it to the HoF.

IMO Ronde was he epitome of a consistent player. Go look at his stats for games started. He holds the record for most consecutive starts by a cornerback. I don't think the guy has ever been injured... at least not enough to make him miss a game.

He was great for many years and remained good enough each season to be worthy of the HoF somewhere down the road. Not a first ballot Hall of Famer, but he'll make it.

That's fine but it doesn't work for a CB who could play flawless football and get few picks because nobody throws the ball that way.

Good thread because Barber is very borderline. 5 pro bowls and 3 1st team all pro he did play on one of the best defenses of the modern era. A defense that defined 4-3 defense.

I'm going to say no i think he falls just short as does his Brother as a RB. Great careers for both though.

For those of you who think he belongs in Canton understand there are only 23 defensive backs in the hall. That's all defensive backs total.

Only the primo best CBs of their era made the hall and he doesn't quite meet that standard.

Who made the Tampa 2 popular and who was the starting corner during it? Guy is almost a lock.

Its all about total stats and all that. If it takes him 15 years vs 10, thats fine because vast majorty aren't good enough to play for 15+ years. Bulluck didnt play near that long. You have to consider his talent long into his age. He was good enough to play til age 38. Charles Woodson can't say that, no one will sign him, and he is years younger. He is top 3 or top 5 all time on alot of Cornerback lists. There are guys he pasted in stats that are already in the HOF.

I truly think he gets in one day. It might not be first ballot, but he does deserve to be in
