This is gonna be a pretty cheap deal. The FA DE class has been very low, Avril 1yr/5mil, Bennett, etc

While we are at it, let's cut Eugene and get Woodson!

I like how some of the people on here are saying how thin we are at DE, but then with the prospect of picking up 1...yes, 1 player....the DE end depth all of a sudden is "loaded". Even with Abraham the DE position is still thin.

I mean we could, but we'd eat about 5 mil anyways

I know they are pretty much no bodies but we do have depth at DE.

I'm pretty meh on Abraham. He seems really old and not a lot of teams are looking at him. I mean look at Wimbley and his contributions. And he's young!

    our "depth" right now is...
    -Edwards: a mid round rookie
-Dawson: solid, UDFA a few years ago
-Solomon: hasn't really done anything in 2 years

Bring in Abraham and push Edwards and Dawson down a spot and hey our DE rotation looks pretty good. Yeah he's getting old but he still recorded 10 sacks last year so if we can preserve him a bit by making him a rotation player then we can still get the same kind of production. We're not going to need killer depth (even though that would be nice) we just need the rest of the defense to step up so we can get the defense off the field sooner. This means tackling and not letting our CB's play 10 freaking yards off the WR.

The link is gone on rotoworld which linked him to the Titans however I do not think I agree with the assesment Rotoworlds little blurb under Abraham gave us.

It read something along these lines; The Titans are in it to win it, going all out in free agency with an eye on a Title in the next few years ... the signing of a veteran 35 year old player and the recent moving up in the draft losing a third round selection, alludes to the fact the Titans are ready to make a push to win it all now rather than later ...

That's not verbatim but very close to what Rotoworld said about the possibly Abraham to the Titans signing later this week. I dont necessarily agree with this. How can they win now with a unsure QB situation? Don't get me wrong I am all for a push but I dont see how one so called expert on NFL.com can rank the Titans 28th and then Rotoworld turn around and say the Titans are pushing for it all now ... the two contradict themselves.

Updated: Falcons maybe looking to re-sign Abraham if the Titans don't hurry and give him a deal he likes ...

They were awful last year. I don't know about this all in talk, but they're doing everything they can to not be awful this year, and the next, and the next. The only thing they can do, since Bud has total say over our HC (we are stuck with Munch), is add talent. And I believe that the decision to add talent at all costs, can and should be made without regard to who is playing QB. Getting beat by 40+ pts. is an embarrassment, and if that is happening (more than once a year), there's a major problem, and that problem was bigger than below average play from Jake Locker. IMO, it was both the HC (or lack thereof) and personnel, they are doing the only thing they can at this point, and that's fixing the lack of talent problem.

Having a talented team outside of QB is not a bad thing. And I really believe that they believe in Locker, let's hope they're right and Loggains knows what he's doing. I'll be honest, I would be surprised if they hit the ground running offensively. I think there are serious coaching/system defeciencies on that side of the ball. I hope they go from zero to sixty overnight, but I'll need to see it to believe it. It's all up to Loggains and Locker.

I agree with a lot of you guys about being concerned whether his heart is in it or not but I'm still all for this signing, DE is soooo thin

It will be a cap friendly deal, and he would be the 3rd down pass rush type of player. I wanted him a few years ago when he first sighed with the falcons. So, I good with it, could only help.
