Jesus Christ you guys will latch on to ANYTHING when it comes to cutting Nate Washington for some reason.

    It's not happening.

At the worst, he'll be depth. I can tell you with certainty- they trust Nate more than they do Britt.

I could see our Offense being very creative this year. Let Britt, our biggest guy, play some slot for a few snaps a game while having Hunter and Wright on the outside. They can both beat the press and if they can't you have your strongest receiver contesting the ball from the slot. You could even use this formation in some screen looks for CJ. The corners would have no choice but to back off.

Lol no it isn't. Just because Nate won't start doesn't mean he will be cut, and I don't think we can get his value in a trade

That would be the stupidest move of all time. Are you saying you would rather have Dwill as our 3rd outside receiver over Nate?

The only way this happens is if Nate demands a trade and refuses to come off the bench.

But do you honestly see Nate being content as "just depth"? I don't think he'll be satisfied as the #4. And I don't think you draft a guy 34th overall to be the #4 either.

I think Nate is gone. And that's not an indictment on his talent, production, or anything like that. Just a matter of circumstance.

It was mostly a joke based on Fisher's statements that Moss and Britt could play together because they both played the receiver position.

It implies he's gonna start learning the Z first, not be the starter at Z.

Where in the world do you guys see that Nate is getting cut or traded?

Just because Hunter is going to learn the Z position 1st? It says NOTHING about him being in the starting lineup, and NOTHING about cutting Nate. Nor does it elude to that

I rather cut either Williams or Hawkins before Nate. Nate's been producing great numbers even though it was mostly because of Britt being out. It still shows he can still play on a high level. The best WR we had last season, not saying much from what we had at the time.

Nate Washington is going to be 30 by the time the season starts and has had arguably just 1 good season here (2011). I would say he's been solid for his other seasons here. He's not an automatic starter like some believe and he's definitely not some kind of franchise player for us. This guy is going to hit our cap for 9.9 million total for this year and next (5.1 total this year, 4.8 next). We already have our 2 guys for the future now and if Britt magically can stay healthy and stay out of trouble, expected since it's his contract year, he could even be back.

    To sum it up:
    -He's getting old
-He hasn't been all that great
-He's getting too much money as our possible 4th most talented WR
-Possible negative to locker room if quitting rumors are true
-No future plans with him in it

So getting rid of Nate would be our stupidest move of all time? You realize we have Kendall Wright still right? Titans aren't the team that needs a lot of money/value invested into this position because it's not like we have Rodgers or Brees throwing the ball for us. Nate isn't worth what he's getting and it's a big sign when we trade up to grab Hunter, a position where we were already fine at.
