I hear what you are saying but I'm not sure you draft for depth in the 2nd round.

Factually inaccurate. Yesterday they were patient, played the board, and got their guy who just happened to be the highest rated player in the draft. You saying they are reactionary is well, reactionary.

Clearly they felt that Hunter was not only better than the other receivers on the board but also in danger of getting taken before them. If they didn't move up for sure we would have taken Robert Woods. I love Woods but do you?The only substantial thing they gave up was a 3rd round pick which we have no idea what player it will represent or whether we can get it back somehow. I love this new FO, they are prudent when they can be and aggressive when they need to be. Minus the stock-piling of picks it reminds me of the Pats approach.

" some titan officials wanted to trade back into round 1 last night to draft Hunter"

appears they got 2 first rounders on their boards.

How does tearing your ACL once make someone "injury prone." Freak accidents happen and eventually if you play the game long enough you're going to get hurt somehow. That's a stupid reason to hate a pick.

For those of you wanting to go defense, just think about how strengthening the offense will help our D. With the o-line fixed, we can convert those 3rd and 2's now and keep drives alive instead of going 3 and out every possession. That is a huge reason I think our D was so bad last year. The offense couldn't keep them off the field. Time of possession was WAY skewed the other teams way in almost every game and our D was absolutely gassed. Taking these offensive players helps our defense.

Det WOULD HAVE taken Hunter at 36. We clearly felt strong about him, more-so than Woods, or any CB/DL at 40. I'm alright with that, this kid could be a stud.

Those crying about the trade terms, apparently some FO officials talked about trading back into round one for him... They were enamored with the prospect. I'm glad they didnt trade back into the first tho.
