5 Year 15 Million Dollar Contract. Could make up to 38 Million with incentives met.

3 Million Base average each year

    4 Million Dollar Signing Bonus

Can you give me an example of a contract where the total is 2/3rd dependent on achieving season based performance incentives?

It's stupid b/c it won't happen, b/c no player in the NFL would ever sign such a contract.

But he also has the richest the 2nd richest contract for a defensive player ever. And technically he's guaranteed 16 million as he will most definitely be on the roster for 2013 pending no drastic legal or serious health issues. As long as he on the roster by a certain date, on a given season, then that money becomes guaranteed for whatever season.

So it isn't similar really at all.

Never said he wasn't good. Said he's too big of a headache and rarely sees the field due to legal or injury issues. And the "just trade if he doesn't work out" mentality is short sited as well, as there will most certainly be a cap hit by trading him if we were to sign him to an extension first.

Kenny Britt is not going to make or break this season. If we could get an extra 3rd rounder and package that with another 3rd and possibly a 6th, then may be we could even sneak back into the mid to late 2nd round and have 3 picks in the top 50.

Kenny Britt is a huge part of how good we do this season...to think he's not makes me question your logic. No 3rd round pick can even bring half of what Britt will be bringing to the table this year. If he returns to form and grows up, he's a top 5 WR in the NFL. Apparently he's off to a good start after reading the new article about him.

"Delmas, who has missed 13 games over the past two seasons because of knee injuries, got a $1-million signing bonus and has a minimum base salary of $715,000 this year, but he can earn another $1.75 million if he plays in all 16 games."

Not 2/3rd, but if we could extend Britt to a deal like this then why not?

Also, didn't Laron Landry get an incentive based contract from the Jets that paid him strictly per game that he played?

These incentive based contracts are more common all the time, especially for players that have injury history, yet think they deserve a lot of money. I guess something in the back of their minds tells them that they just won't get hurt again if all that money is on the line. lol.

Anyways...I think an incentive based contract extension for Britt is a perfect solution. Let's do it before he gets 1000 and 10 this season!!!!!!!! Then we'll have to pay him 50 million over 5 years, and he'll get hurt the first game next season...lol
