He's arguably the best at his position. If he's willing to take non-guaranteed money why wouldn't Kenny?

If your intent is to play football you'll make your money. A fat signing bonus just makes the deal much more sweet. Your getting money based on your past performance, your potential.

Kenny Britt is one bad play away from ending his career, and has never been paid big money, he's not agreeing to no signing bonus, he's not that stupid.

The contract would be more desireable to him, not less.

How is that better for him? He'd get no money up front and risk being poor.

The signing bonus is money up front.

Oh Im confused. I could have sworn you were suggesting giving him a Revis kind of deal all performance based with incentives nothing guaranteed .

I would pull the trigger to trade him without thinking about it.

He has shown promise but all of the dumb **** he does has seemed to impede his progress, not to mention his injuries. It's a shame that physical talent does not come with common sense. I doubt we get an offer. No one should be desperate enough to trade a pick for him, especially since we are more than likely going to release him at the end of the season. Save your pick and make a contract offer then. I doubt anyone would really be competing for his services, should be a buyers market. There are much better players they could be trading their picks on.

Nope. The gauranteed money would just be lower. The player would get their money up front for signing (signing bonus), and to off-set the expense their guaranteed money each year would be lower. If the player performed well their salary would increase for that season.

Would be a win-win IMO. The FO gets their good players for long term deals and uses extra cap space (for the signing bonus) in the year the deal is signed to save on cap space in the future. The player gets some long term stability, instant money, and a way to make extra money each year based upon performance.

lol why don't you wake up and just admit you were wrong.

What is the point in throwing out contract numbers or even posting if your post is nonsensical and your best defense is "it's an imaginary contract"

Maybe I should start a thread that we should re-sign Locker right now for a 10 year, 1 million per year contract with a 2million signing bonus.

I mean, unless something is offered, it doesn't exist. It's 2013, not 2014. Locker hasn't played a down of football. There is a benefit to signing a contract with a nice signing bonus. Instant money (he can invest it and have 400k a year to live on), he could settle into his career and work on his game (job security) and get a hefty payout each year when he performs well.

the Titans get a great QB for years to come. it's a win win.

Except it's dumb to even discuss because IT WOULD NEVER HAPPEN. LMAO.
