You really don't see the possible harm that could come from giving Kenny Britt a contract extension with guaranteed money?

    Really?

    REALLY?

i've said it too many times...

i am not ok with getting rid of britt unless we get someone else who has at least shown he has the tools & potential to be a true #1...

i'd much rather have 'potential' filling a need than nothing at all...

I didn't say anything about guaranteed money...

Can't be much worse than what we gave Amano!!! lol....and our cap situation ain't too bad right now.

We're not extending him at all. He's proven during his time here he can't be relied upon to be on the field for one reason or another. If a guy isn't on the field he's useless. The Titans are hoping for one good full year out of Britt before someone signs him to a contract he hasn't earned.

And as far as signing him now without guaranteed money, why would he agree to that? That's the only part of the contract he's definitely going to receive. Why would someone with the talent of Britt, who's only 24, would agree to no or very little guaranteed money? He wouldn't.

You're even more crazy than I thought if you think it's possible to somehow extend Kenny Britt's contract without giving him guaranteed money.

It would probably have a lot of incentives built in.

Why would he agree to that though? He's in a do or die year for the Titans. If he stays healthy and produces someone will reward him with more than he should get. If he ends up going par on the season, gets hurt/arrested and misses time, he'll get the same contract a year from now from someone else that he would have gotten from the Titans right now.

Makes no sense for Britt to do it.

Are you psychic? Is the season already over?

The best indicator of the future is the past. Has he proven to be durable? No. It's a safer assumption that he'll get hurt than predicting he'll stay healthy for the first time in his career.
