    True but so what if we went out and signed a guy like Berrian for more than the 2 mil a year MR thinks he is worth? Would signing one to a big contract really destroy the organization? Pick a FA out at a position we really have a need and go get the guy. Heck if we went out and signed Samuel would that really be a bad thing? As we show patience the better guys are getting signed.

    IMO we don't have any reason to think that MR has a clue what he is doing. He hasn't really proven anything so far in the draft or FA. I had no problem passing on Odom if we jumped on a guy like Pace instead but just sitting there with our heads up our arse isn't going to improve the team and that sure looks like what we are doing. What are we going to do. Sign some nice "value" guys like Ebenezer Ekuban or Renaldo Wynn to take Odom and LaBoy's place? Maybe we will bring in Drew Carter to be our answer as our #1 WR? Hey, Az-Zahir Hakim might be a nice pickup! Add into the mix that maybe we don't even have AH after next year and I'm getting real excited about our DL in the short and long term. I can't wait for the announcement of the signing of Brian Rimpf to replace Bell at OG.

    Remember this time last year? Same thing happened. Titans made a play on some free agents early. They tried for Clements until it got stupid. They tried to keep Henry, Wade and Bennett. They even outbid the Pats for Stallworth and took a stab at Meshawn.

    People here were calling Reinfeldt shell shocked and border-line incompetent as you are now less than 24 hours into free agency.

    Guess what? Henry was hurt and close to being suspended for a full season. Bennett did squat. Stallworth didn't produce and Clements, according to many, was overpaid and hasn't lived up to his deal so far.

    If those players had produced the same numbers for the Titans last year, many would call Reinfeldt incompetent for overpaying.

    Reinfeldt had few options last year. He wasn't willing to overpay. He ended up bringing in three starters (Gage, Fowler and Harper) and added depth (Moulds, Fisher and Herndon). I don't see that as a negative.

    Give it time.

    How much money did the Titans not spend last offseason. Didn't Bud keep close to 10 mil that he could have used to sign players. Now the Titans are close to the top in cap space and can't find a player to sign. Let me see. Was there any player last offseason that the Titans could have thrown a few mil at and maybe gotten a WR that VY needed. It's not like the Titans couldn't have afforded to pay him this year also. I wonder who the Titans could have gotten last offseason, with a front loaded contract and still avoided cap hell. That's ok. Keep thinking of Buds money like it's yours. He likes it that way.
