SUMMARY: Vince Young says he's going to change his approach this season by staying quiet and working hard. "I am just going to shut my mouth and play my role and if they need me then I will be available as a weapon,

great remarks on Vince's part... he's making me think that he is going to grasp the speed of the pro game... and by that I mean reading the progressions and making the smart throws and taking the smart runs.... good for Vince...

i did find one remark a little puzzling...
that was kind of an odd thing to say...
but I like the way the writer, Jim Wyatt, notes it as a matter of record that Vince "initially refused to go back into the game" in reference to week 1 last year. I have read too many posts on this forum questioning the legitimacy of that assertion.

Probably should go ahead and merge this with the other Vince Young thread, eh?

Hypothetical: If Ramsey outplays Young in camp and the preseason, would the Titans give him the #2 spot?

don't do it Jeff... close that one.

Vince has broken a media silence. Every now and then we need to change the VY thread... kinda like the kitty litter...

“Whatever they want me to do that is what I am going to do. If they want me to sit on the sideline and be there to watch the game then that is OK with me, but at the same time I am getting my checks and I am fine.’’

Alrighty then, I closed the other but I challenge folks to try and not generally repeat every post in that thread here.

    I won't hold my breath.

I think Vince may have been talking about the hoopla itself of him not being able to win anymore. I don't think he himself was directly saying he couldn't win anymore.

this last part of the line kinda bothers me. wouldnt you want to work your :grrr::grrr::grrr: off to make sure that you are playing? i would think sitting on the sidelines collecting checks isnt what football is about. i am not trying to get into a bashing vince thread..just saying...isnt that a little odd?

Yeah. It sounds like he's content to sign his check. But Young has said some pretty goofy things since he was drafted. I don't make a lot out of this because he had already said he's working hard and is preparing himself as best he can.

I would have liked to have heard him say something like "I have respect for Collins but I plan on winning my job back". But some would have found a reason to bash him for that too.

i think vince will get his chance this year we will see how he looks in preseason and i would not be surprised to see him in regular season. they do have alot of money invested in him and he did win alot of games and you never know about injuries and if collins gets hurt my money is on vince.
