Wow! one game in and you people think the season's lost! Pessimism makes you ugly!!!)
I think Collins should stay as the starter as well but don't bring out that crap. Lendale had 15 rushing touchdowns last year rather than 7 the year before. Johnson with 10 touchdowns. Thats 25 compared to 14. Add in Defense its 6 compared to 4.
Thats altogether 217 points not including passer versus 126 not including passer. Thats a 91 point difference from 2007 to 2008 while not including the quarterbacks.
Now lets check out the quarter backs:
Kerry Collins: 12 total touchdowns-84 points
Vince Young: 12 total touchdowns-84 points
Dosn't look like much difference to me other than the fact that Collins' supporting cast produced more points than Vince's did. How about you check the facts next time rather than cherry picking.
Yes, but Collins didn't throw the 17 ints that cost us points. He was able to drive us down the field and get points on the board. If you remember in 2007, we were dead last in red zone percentage. In 2008 we were first. The addition of Chris Johnson and Collins helped tremendously.
Oh yeah. Collins also had the 2nd highest passer rating in the NFL inside the 20.
You'd think the huggers might be patient enough to at least wait 3 or 4 games before trying to stir up a QB controversy....But NOOOOO.
Im not making a case for Vince starting, Im just countering your stat about total points when it had less to do with the starting qbs than the team.
Kerry Collins is an NFL caliber QB.
Vince Young isn't.
Let's stop pretending.
I'm all for whatever makes our team better. I didn't like how KC threw the ball away back to back times on our last attempt at a drive in the 4th quarter. I know VY makes mistakes, but he also makes great plays, especially with his legs, that KC simply cannot make. No one can say VY isn't physically gifted- he just needs some work in the thinking aspects of the QB position, as he occasionally makes poor choices. But the guy is competitive and wants to win. He gets bashed all the time for this and that, but he is a competitor and can be a leader. Also, the year VY played QB, we had Lendale in the backfield and a much worse WR/TE corps. Last years success was not only a result of QB changes. I'm all for giving him a chance.
this thread is retarded.
Yeah but you enjoyed it...
