He'll test free agency and ultimately take anyone's offer, he just wants to get paid.
Whew!! GoT is pissed!! Kendall started off on the wrong foot with a lot of Titans fans by missing the first week(Rookies and QBs reported last wednesday) of Training Camp. Us Titan fans already know about our WR curse and combine that with our current 1st rounder Curse, it wasn't smart or beneficial to the TEAM, which is all I really care about, not singular players.
GoT you do realize there is a difference between running a 40 and game speed? You can look at the tape and it is quite clear he runs faster than what he was timed at. Jerry Rice ran the same time but nobody really caught him in game. Just saying man. Your going overboard with the "fat boy" comments this early. Lets let him play a couple games before labeling him so much.
Why is it the players fault whenever there's a holdout? Doesn't the team hold some responsiblity in the matter? If they're not offering what the player is worth and a similar deal to what others got in his same position, why should it be the players fault.
As far as the 40 time, he never ran a 4.7. He ran 4.61 at the combine and re-ran it at his pro day and ran a 4.46 and 4.41. Also, as we all know you can't compare a players speed in a football game to what he ran in a track style event.
That was supposed to be the emphasis in the new CBA for our almost lockout last year. Rookie pay scales are "slotted" so that the contract monies are known upfront, there really is no negotiation. Except for nowadays that all these idiots run afoul of the law, most teams are trying to protect themselves if players get into trouble and players/agents refute, which baffles me. If you don't get in trouble, it really doesn't matter!! So the emphasis should be on the players/agents to stay out of trouble. Is it Jacksonville's fault that Blackmon is an idiot and got arrested AFTER they drafted him? No, so if they want to protect themselves for future punishment I don't disagree one bit........what better motivation to stay out of trouble than to have your pay taken from you if you don't??? Makes perfect business sense
If Kendall Wright was so certain he wouldn't get cut and or into trouble, why would he be pushing for the 4th year guarantee so badly? Is he worried that he may not be what we think he is and just wants to make sure he's taken care of in 3 yrs when he's out of the league? That's the most disappointing thing, if you want to holdout, make it over bonus pay for performance escalators! That's the kind of guy I want
But he's under contract til 2014.
Ah, for some reason I thought he was gonna be an RFA after this year
I really dont know what to think of Kenny. When he came into the league I had some doubts. When Dinger had him train with former Broncos WR Rod Smith I was surprised. Rod Smith was a super lazy WR, and for him to be the guy that says Kenny is NFL ready, I found that suspicious.
When Kenny played as a rookie all looked good, but then as time went on he showed he couldn't be counted on. Multiple arrests, and major injuries now have me thinking he's not the guy we all want him to be. He could be our 3rd WR, but not our go-to guy. The Wright pick had me dumbfounded, but obviously the GM and rest of the FO know more about our personnel than the fans do.
You might be right, Kenny probably will leave TN in 2 years when the dollars signs come in to play..
If he can do anything worth mentioning in two years. Right now no one is going to pay big money for a guy who has only played a season and a half worth of games. He needs to have two big seasons for that to happen.
