Posted by ESPN.com's Paul Kuharsky The Houston Texans have been rotating three corners through two spots and now they may use the same formula at safety.
It's not something you see teams do often and it's not something a team with good starters does.
It's not something you want to see your team doing as it prepares to face Peyton Manning, Reggie Wayne, Dallas Clark, Anthony Gonzalez and Marvin Harrison, even if the struggling Colts are 1-2 and still have some fill-ins on the offensive line.
It's not something you want to be doing against a team that is 11-1 against you.
But, apparently, it's what the Texans will be doing.
Today they practiced for the first time without C.C. Brown, who was lost for the season with a fractured arm.Â*Their other starting safety, Will Demps, didn't work either because of a hamstring problem, though coach Gary Kubiak said he thinks Demps will be OK to play Sunday.
Kubiak was asked if it's frightening to go against Manning without healthy safeties.
"It's scary to face him if you had 15 safeties that were healthy, so that doesn't change," he said. "He's unbelievable and he's going to make plays; they're going to make plays. What you have to do is just keep grinding, keep playing and not get discouraged when they make one on you. Hopefully you find your plays before the day is said and done. It takes a total team effort to get it done against them - a very unselfish team effort - and that's what we're looking for this weekend."
